Childhood & Early Life
Grace Phipps was born Grace Victoria Phipps Padilla, on May 4, 1992, in Austin, Texas, to Kate and Gil Phipps. She was raised with her younger brother, Liam Phipps, in Boerne, Texas. She later moved to San Antonio, Texas, with her parents.
Grace attended ‘Robert E Lee High School’s ‘North East School of the Arts.’ As a child, she was passionate about music and acting. She was also part of ‘The Magik Theatre’ a children’s theater in San Antonio, Texas, and majored in musical theater.
In 2010, she won the ‘Las Casas Performing Arts Scholarship Competition.’ As soon as she completed her graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to work seriously toward her passion, acting. She was recognized by an acting agent after she performed the role of a tough girl named ‘Rizzo’ in a theatrical production of ‘Grease.’

Career
Grace got her breakthrough role after she was recognized by an agent in a play. In 2011, she made her acting debut as ‘Bee’ in the film ‘Fright Night.’ The film was a remake of the 1985 horror film of the same name. She did not have to struggle much to bag her first film.
The same year, she was cast as ‘Amy Tiffany Martin’ in the TV series ‘The Nine Lives of Chloe King.’ It was an American supernatural drama that aired from June 14, 2011, on ‘ABC Family.’
Following this, she appeared as ‘April Young’ in the supernatural drama ‘The Vampire Diaries.’ The series originally premiered on September 10, 2009, on ‘The CW’ and continued till March 10, 2017. It stretched over eight seasons and consisted of 171 episodes.
In 2013, she bagged the role of ‘Megan’ in the sitcom ‘Baby Daddy.’ She appeared in this series till its final episode. The series was about a man named ‘Ben Wheeler,’ taking care of his daughter with the help of his mother, his brother, and two best friends.
Finally, in 2013, she became a household name after she appeared as ‘Lela’ in the TV film ‘Teen Beach Movie.’ The film originally premiered on ‘Disney Channel’ on July 19, 2013. The film featured her in a leading role and gained positive reviews.
Her song ‘Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’,’ sung with Ross Lynch and Jason Evigan, featured in the soundtrack of ‘Teen Beach Movie.’ The song reached number 82 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ chart.
In 2013, she appeared in a single episode of the series ‘Supernatural.’ The episode, ‘I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here,’ featured her as ‘Hael.’ She appeared as ‘Brandy Braxton’ in an episode of the 2014 sitcom ‘Austin & Ally’ titled ‘Directors & Divas.’
In 2015, she was deluged with TV and film offers. She played the role of ‘Mona Wilson’ in the 2015 American supernatural horror film ‘Dark Summer.’ Her character was shown committing suicide after being stalked by one of her classmates. She was then shown turning into an evil spirit and seeking revenge from her classmate ‘Gilchrist.’
In mid-2015, she appeared as ‘Erica Young’ in an episode of the series ‘Hawaii Five-O’ titled ‘Wawahi moeʻuhane (Broken Dreams).’ She played the role of ‘Vanessa Gillerman’ in a single episode of the series ‘CSI: Cyber’ titled ‘Selfie 2.0.’

In 2015, she reprised the role of ‘Lela’ from her successful TV film ‘Teen Beach Movie’ in its sequel, ‘Teen Beach 2.’ This film premiered on ‘Disney Channel’ on June 26, 2015, and became the second-most-watched cable movie of the year, garnering 5.8 million viewers on its premiere night. The film featured her in the role of a young biker, and her performance was appreciated.
Her singing career received a boost when, in 2015, she was nominated for a ‘Teen Choice Award’ for her song ‘Gotta Be Me’ that was featured in the film ‘Teen Beach 2.’

In late 2015, she was cast as the younger version of ‘Mandy Greenwell’ in the first season of an American comedy–horror series titled ‘Scream Queens.’ The series aired on ‘Fox’ from September 22, 2015, to December 20, 2016.
In 2017, she appeared as ‘Sgt. Lilly’ in the series ‘Z Nation.’
