Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, known more popularly as Hulk, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for the Shanghai SIPG as well as the Brazilian football team. He began his professional career with the Esporte Clube Vitoria, after which he was loaned to the Japanese team Kawasaki Frontal and later played for the team Tokyo Verdy. In 2007, he became the highest goal scorer of the season, by scoring 37 goals in 42 matches. He spent a total of three years in Japan. Later, he played for several seasons in Portugal with the club Porto and won ten major titles, including the 2010-11 UEFA Europa League Championships and three national championships. He had also been crowned the league’s top scorer once. He started playing for the Zenit Saint Petersburg of the Russian Premier League in 2012. He earned several honors during his time in the league. He transferred to the Shanghai SIPG in 2016. Hulk made his international debut in 2009 and played for Brazil at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He also represented the Brazilian senior team in their victory at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and played for Brazil at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
