Jack Met is an American vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, best known for being a part of an indie pop band named ‘AJR.’ The band consists of three brothers, and Jack is the youngest. Jack and his brothers Adam and Ryan started their musical career by writing and producing their own music in their living room in Chelsea, Manhattan. After busking on the streets of New York City, the trio came up with their hit single ‘Weak,’ which turned out to be a massive success, and got a lot of fame to Jack and his brothers. They went on to perform the opening act for singers like Demi Lovato and managed to sell out their band’s U.S. headline tour. Apart from being the lead vocalist of ‘AJR,’ Jack Met also plays multiple instruments like guitar, drums, keyboard, trumpet, and ukulele among other instruments.

Childhood & Early Life
Jack Evan Met was born on August 16, 1997, in New York City, New York, United States of America. He went to the famous ‘Professional Children’s School’ in New York City, which has produced several personalities in the field of music, dance, and acting.
Much like his older brothers, Jack developed interest in music early in his life. In fact, he was just eight years old when he started his music career with his brothers. The trio started off by performing on the streets of New York City. They mostly performed cover version of popular songs in Central Park before they were forced to evacuate the place.
They then obtained legal permission to perform in Washington Square, which marked the beginning of Jack Met’s music career. Jack and his brothers eventually found a way to create their own music. They were helped by their parents, who offered their living room, which the boys used to record their songs.
Drawing inspiration from musicians like Jon Bellion, Kanye West, and Macklemore among others, Jack and his brothers started creating their own music, and produced their debut single, ‘I’m Ready.’ The trio got its big breakthrough in 2013, when Jack’s brother Ryan sent a link of their song ‘I’m Ready’ to about 80 celebrities. The song was eventually heard by famous singer-songwriter Sia, who informed her manager about the track.
‘I’m Ready’ was released commercially on August 22, 2013, post which it gained popularity as it was played regularly on ‘Sirius XM Radio.’ On October 15, 2013, the official video of the song was released on Vevo.
On December 20, 2013, Jack and his brothers released their debut extended play ‘6foot1,’ which was later renamed as ‘I’m Ready.’ By 2014, Jack’s band ‘AJR’ was being noticed by many as their song ‘I’m Ready’ kept attracting hundreds of music lovers all over the United States.
On September 23, 2014, ‘AJR’ came up with its second extended play titled ‘Infinity,’ which had five tracks. Though the band announced that it would be releasing its debut album in 2014, the release date of the album was pushed further as they wanted to make some crucial changes to the album. The band released its debut album, ‘Living Room,’ on March 3, 2015, which peaked at the 20th position on the ‘Top Heatseekers’ chart.
‘AJR’ then released its third extended play on September 16, 2016. The extended play titled ‘What Everyone’s Thinking’ housed a track named ‘Weak,’ which would go on to become one of the most successful songs of the band.
The band’s second studio album titled ‘The Click’ was released on June 9, 2017. Apart from hit singles like ‘Weak’ and ‘Drama’ the album also had a track named ‘Sober Up,’ which featured musician Rivers Cuomo, who also co-wrote the song.
Jack has appeared in a number of music videos as well for almost all of his band’s songs. After releasing the official music video of the band’s super hit single, ‘Weak,’ Jack appeared in a behind the scene video of ‘Weak,’ in which he was seen explaining how the crew went about shooting the music video. In 2017, Jack and his brothers were seen in a short music video titled ‘AJR: Weak,’ which was directed by Shane C. Drake.

Achievements
Within a few years from starting their mainstream career, Jack’s band was named as CC Media Holdings’ ‘Artist on the Rise.’
Their song, ‘I'm Ready,’ peaked at number one on the ‘Next Big Sound’ music chart. ‘I’m Ready,’ which was included in the album ‘Living Room,’ was honored with a platinum certification by the ‘Recording Industry Association of America’ (RIAA) and the ‘Australian Recording Industry Association’ (ARIA).
The band’s most successful song, ‘Weak,’ was certified as platinum and gold by the RIAA and ARIA respectively. It was also honored with platinum certifications by ‘Belgian Entertainment Association’ (BEA) and ‘Music Canada’ (MC).
Their song ‘Sober Up,’ which was a part of their album ‘The Click,’ received gold certification by the RIAA. The song also peaked at the seventh position on ‘Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles’ chart.
Apart from producing popular singles, ‘AJR’ has also produced several popular albums. Their album, ‘Living Room,’ peaked at number 20 on ‘Top Heatseekers’ chart in the US. The band’s second studio album, ‘The Click,’ peaked at number 61 on ‘Billboard 200.’
The band’s most popular extended play ‘I'm Ready’ peaked at number 32 on ‘Top Heatseekers’ chart. Their second extended play, ‘Infinity,’ peaked at number 36 on ‘Top Heatseekers’ chart. ‘What Everyone's Thinking,’ which was released September 16, 2016, peaked at number 164 on ‘Billboard 200.’

Jack Met is active on various social media platforms, such as Instagram and Twitter. His Instagram page has more than 47,000 followers. While he mostly posts photos and videos pertaining to his band, he also posts pictures portraying his personal life. With over 27,000 followers, he is also popular on Twitter.
Jack Met loves animals, which is pretty evident through his posts on social media. He is often seen spending time with his pet dogs and other animals in and around New York. He also enjoys spending time with his brothers as he is close to them.
Apart from serving as the lead vocalist for his band, Jack Met also plays instruments like guitar, melodica, drums, keyboards, ukulele, percussion, and trumpet. He is also good at synthesizers and programming. When it comes to sports, Jack is an expert in playing tennis and ping pong.
