Childhood & Early Life
Jackson Guthy was born on March 19, 1996, in Los Angeles, California, United States, to Bill and Victoria Guthy. He was raised in California along with his older sister, Ali Guthy. He became interested in music at a young age and started playing piano when he was just four years old. Interestingly, he picked up the piano lessons which were left midway by his sister, who lost interest in playing the musical instrument.
Guthy started writing songs when he was just seven years old. Around the same time, he also started writing his own chords. At the age of 15, he landed an opportunity to perform on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show.’ He was personally invited by DeGeneres to her show where he performed his debut single, ‘Loving.’

Career
As a teenager, he toured alongside bands like ‘Big Time Rush’ and ‘One Direction.’ In 2012, he performed a song titled ‘Make Up Your Mind’ during the ‘Better with U Tour’ which was the first headlining tour by the popular boy band ‘Big Time Rush.’ During the tour, Guthy served as an opening act, visiting Canada and most parts of the United States.
In April 2013, he was once again invited to the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ where he performed singles, such as ‘Everything You Do’ and ‘Roll’ from his latest extended play (EP) ‘Launch’ which was to be released later that year. On May 29, 2013, the official music video of ‘Roll’ was released on YouTube.
In 2013, he toured along with the famous pop music boy band ‘Big Time Rush.’ He opened for the band’s headlining concert tour, ‘The Summer Break Tour,’ which featured pop artist Victoria Dawn Justice. The tour, which supported the band's studio album ‘24/Seven’ and Victoria Justice's music, started on June 21 in Los Angeles, USA and ended on August 15, 2013, in Monterrey, Mexico.
From September to October 2013, he opened for English singer and songwriter Cher Lloyd on her second headlining tour ‘The I Wish Tour.’ The tour, which was in support of Cher Lloyd’s second album ‘Sorry I'm Late,’ saw Guthy visiting North American countries. ‘The I Wish Tour’ started in Recife, Brazil on August 23 and ended in Orlando, Florida on November 3, 2013.
He then landed opportunities to open for bands like ‘Emblem3’ and ‘MKTO.’ In 2014, he became part of a tour called ‘#Bandlife’ which was headlined by ‘Emblem3.’ After touring alongside ‘MKTO’ and ‘Emblem3,’ Guthy started collaborating with American singer, bassist, record producer, and entrepreneur Randy Jackson, who took him under his wings. Together, they started searching for members to form a new rock band.
Guthy and Jackson recruited Michael, Rob, Edison, and Nolan to form a rock band called ‘North of Nine.’ Soon after, the band came up with its debut single, ‘We Ride.’ Subsequently, they started working on their extended play ‘Alive.’ Before releasing their EP, Guthy and his band members released a single titled ‘Can It Be You’ that would eventually become part of their EP ‘Alive.’
On February 27, 2015, a live studio version of ‘Can It Be You’ was premiered exclusively by ‘Billboard.’ On March 10, 2015, ‘North of Nine’ released its debut album, 'Alive,' which was executively produced by Gavin Brown and Randall 'Randy' Darius Jackson. The album featured five songs, namely ‘Can It Be You,’ ‘Alone,’ ‘Open Road,’ ‘Eaten Alive,’ and ‘Better Off Together.’
In 2016, Guthy co-wrote a song titled ‘Sensitive’ along with three-time Grammy-winning English musician Stuart Price and popular English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. ‘Sensitive’ was featured in Robbie Williams' eleventh studio album ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show’ which was released under the famous label, ‘Columbia Records.’
Jackson Guthy stopped making music around 2016. The following year, he announced his comeback through a post on his official Facebook page. In the post, he thanked his fans for their support and claimed that he was working on a new project. In 2019, he was featured alongside rapper Jez Dior in a song titled ‘Nobody Knows.’
Family & Personal Life
Jackson Guthy's father, Bill Guthy, is the co-owner of ‘Guthy-Renker LLC’ which he co-founded in 1988. His mother, Victoria, worked as a make-up artist in the American film industry before shifting her focus towards business. She currently serves as the CEO of ‘Victoria Jackson Cosmetics.’
His older sister, Ali Guthy, suffers from a rare autoimmune disease called ‘orphan disorder.’ The disorder causes the sufferer's immune system to attack normal tissue, mistaking it as a threat. In one of her interviews to ‘Teen Vogue’ magazine, Ali Guthy said that the disorder can ultimately cause blindness and paralysis.
Jackson Guthy is in a relationship with American social media celebrity Olivia Jade Giannulli. Guthy, too, is active on social media platforms, such as Instagram, where he has thousands of followers. He usually posts pictures depicting his personal life on his Instagram page.
