Jamie Linden Biography

Jamie Linden is the American screenwriter and producer who has written screenplays of some hit movies. Before entering Hollywood he was a contestant on a reality show. After Linden graduated from college, he and his friends travelled to Los Angeles. He along with his friends attended a taping of the game show ‘The Price is Right’ and won $5,000 along with a Tuscan wine server cart. In an interview, Linden stated that the money he won in the game show helped him stay in California longer than he had planned. Linden’s first job was as an assistant at the production company known as Mirage Enterprises. He was working for the director and producer Sidney Pollack and Anthony Minghella.

Linden read an article in FSView & Florida Flambeau which was a Florida State’s student newspaper. The article was about the 1970 Southern Airways Flight 932 plane crash which killed the football team of Marshall University. After Linden read the article he became ‘obsessed’ with it.

After being a part of Hollywood, Linden used to read a lot of feature film screenplays as a part of his job. He was even fired from his job as an assistant several times. After getting fired number of times, he decided to write screenplay for himself. He worked on his first script which was titled ‘Things to Do Before I Die’ which was co-written by Cory Helms. The script might not have worked with Warner Bros. but it helped him get a deal to write another script. Linden always wanted to work on the plane crash of Marshall University. In 2004, he finally showed the script to Warner Bros., film producers Basil Iwanyk, and Mary Viola. After the script was finalised, Linden and the film’s crew members had a meeting with family members of the victims of the plane crash. They also met Keith Morehouse who lost his father in the crash. The idea behind these meetings was to bring authenticity and honesty to the film’s script. The film was released in 2006 titled ‘We Are Marshall’ and was directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol.

Linden is working on a biographical film which is about Bill Johnson who was an Olympic gold medallist downhill skier. The film will be produced by Basil Iwanyk who also produced ‘We Are Marshall’. In addition to this, he is also working on adaption of ‘The Dogs of Babel’ and a television pilot ‘Flash Back’.

Jamie Linden was born on 3 September 1980 in Florida, USA. He spent most of his childhood in Winter Park, Florida, near Orlando. Linden went to Lake Howell High School. Later, he attended Florida State University’s College of Communication and majored in marketing and media production.

In April 2013, he attended the wedding of his friend and actor Scott Porter and also served as his groomsman. Actor Scott Porter from ‘Friday Night Lights’ was with Linden in Lake Howell High School in Florida.

Linden was in relationship with ‘New Girl’ star Zooey Deschanel between 2012 and 2014. He started dating Rachael McAdams in 2016. The two were spotted in Los Angeles and Paris while attending a friend’s wedding. As per the news reports, McAdams is expecting her first child with Linden.
