Jason Mesnick is an American reality TV star and real-estate agent, who became popular after his stint in the 13th season of the show The Bachelor in 2009. Jason initially graduated in psychology from the University of Washington and then became a real-estate agent. When he participated in the reality series, Jason was a single father from Cleveland. Prior to The Bachelor, he was part of the fourth season of The Bachelorette in 2008 and was rejected by DeAnna Pappas, as the runner-up, on the show. On The Bachelor, Jason had initially proposed to Melissa Rycroft. However, he changed his mind at the last minute and proposed to the runner-up, Molly Malaney, in the end. Jason appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the day after the final episode of The Bachelor, After the Final Rose, was broadcast. He said he did not wish to lead Melissa on after feeling they did not share enough “chemistry” with each other.

In October 2009, Jason Mesnick went for a vacation with Molly to New Zealand. While on the vacation, he proposed marriage to Molly, and she accepted his proposal.
