Jeff Tietjens was born on August 18, 1970, in San Francisco, California, USA. Tietjens, who was raised in California, is of Italian descent. After graduating from high school, Tietjens was enrolled at ‘Dartmouth College’ from where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law and administration. He also attended ‘Loyola Law School’ in Los Angeles and then went on to pursue his master’s degree. After completing his education, Tietjens was admitted to the ‘State Bar of California’ in 2000. He then started his career as an attorney, working at various law firms. He currently has his own law firms in San Francisco, California and New York City, New York.

Jeff Tietjens met Aisha Tyler while studying at ‘Dartmouth College’ in Hanover, New Hampshire, USA. They eventually fell in love with each other after dating for several days.

Tietjens and Tyler got married in May 1992 in a private ceremony. Tietjens’ popularity increased after marrying the famous Hollywood celebrity. He started appearing at red carpet events and movie premieres alongside his actress wife. In 2002, Tietjens and Tyler bought a luxurious home in Hollywood Hills.

After having a successful married life for more than two decades, Tietjens and Tyler decided to go their separate ways in 2015. The following year, Jeff Tietjens filed for divorce at a local court, citing irreconcilable differences as the grounds for divorce. In December 2016, Tietjens and Tyler negotiated a settlement agreement according to which Tyler agreed to pay Tietjens $31,250 every month for the next four years. She also agreed to pay his annual life insurance policy worth $500,000 until the end of 2020. They also agreed to divide their property and assets, including their Hollywood Hills home, which they had sold in 2016 for more than $2 million. Jeff Tietjens’ high profile divorce, which was finalized in 2017, caught the attention of many. As a result, Tietjens became even more popular as the news of his divorce was published in media. While talking about her divorce in her TV show ‘The Talk,’ Tyler broke down in tears. She said that Jeff Tietjens is a wonderful person and that she wishes him joy and fulfillment in his life. Though the exact reason for his divorce with Tyler remains a mystery, rumor has it that Tyler’s inability to conceive played an important role in their separation. In one of the episodes of her talk show ‘The Talk,’ which was aired in September 2013, Tyler revealed that they had struggled for two years trying to conceive. She even said that they tried in vitro fertilization (IVF) without any result.

Jeff Tietjens likes maintaining a low profile. He is not active on social media. He currently owns a couple of law firms in the United States. However, his law license with the state of California has been inactive since 2010.
