Jillian Mele is a popular American broadcast journalist who has won two Emmy awards for her achievements so far. After graduating with a degree in communication, Mele began her career as a co-anchor and sports anchor with WASM-TV in Maine. After reporting locally for a couple of years, she joined NBC 10 as a reporter and anchor. Her career took off from there, with her excellent reporting skills and natural charms getting her noticed. Her work has also won her two Emmy awards. After more than seven years with NBC, Mele decided to switch to a bigger network, Fox News. She started co-hosting their news segment ‘Fox & Friends’ alongside Rob Schmitt and later started appearing in a variety of shows. Mele did not restrict herself to reporting in the studio and has been a part of the live coverage of many important events, including being present at Miami during Hurricane Irma and at Las Vegas after the mass shootings in 2017. Mele loves to cover sports, her first love. She was recently seen covering the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl Championship.

Career
After graduating from La Salle University with a bachelor’s degree in arts in 2005, Jillian Mele was unsure of the direction she wanted to take in her career and dabbled in many courses before finally settling down to study communication at University of Scranton. She began her career in journalism with an internship at Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia. After graduating, she started working as a co-anchor for the evening news and later as the sports anchor and weekday news presenter at WASM-TV in Maine. She switched to WIVT-TV in New York after this and started working on programs that involved more research. Her biggest breakthrough came in October 2007, when she joined NBC 10 WCAU-TV as a reporter. She reported on diverse local happenings, including sports and traffic news. With NBC, Mele managed to make a name for herself and won many awards for her reporting, including an Emmy for her team’s Olympics coverage. She branched out to several shows and appeared as a guest and anchor on ‘Breakfast on Broad’. Her work on ‘Breakfast on Broad: Tailgate Special’ won her a second Emmy which further boosted her popularity.
She stayed in this position for over seven years before she switched to Fox News. Her prominence increased after she joined Fox as a reporter for ‘Fox & Friends’, a morning show that Mele currently hosts with Rob Schmitt. She is also the co-host of ‘Fox & Friends First’ and regularly appears on the news segments. Apart from these shows, Mele also travels and reports from the field. She went to Miami to report on the hurricane and later travelled to Las Vegas in 2017 to report on the mass shooting. In 2018, she covered the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl Championship parade for Fox. She has also worked with many reputed journalists and reporters, including Tracee Carrasco, Heather Childers, Carley Shimkus, and Jackie Ibanez, over the course of her career. Mele’s rise from being a local sports reporter and anchor to becoming a national news anchor is an enviable feat and her meteoric rise to fame has inspired many other young women to follow in her footsteps.

Jillian Mele was born on September 17, 1982, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Roseanna Mele and Thomas Mele. She has two brothers. Mele comes from a sports-loving family and continues to be interested in sports. She is also a ballet dancer and had studied ballet for over thirteen years before giving it up to pursue sports. Currently, Mele enjoys playing golf, photography, and trekking. She has climbed Mt. Sinai, Egypt, and has even trekked over most of the Grand Canyon. She also loves spending time with her beloved corgi, Tyler.
Despite constantly being in the public eye, Mele is a private person. While it is rumored that she is in a serious relationship with a man from Boston, there have been no confirmations about his identity from her end. On her days off, she loves unwinding at home with a glass of wine.
