Joan Celia Lee is an American actress, writer and producer, who is best known for being the daughter of the legendary comic book writer, publisher and producer, Stan Lee. Joan grew up in a creative environment and learned a lot from her parents, who encouraged her to express herself as artistically as she fancied. After trying her hands at painting, fashion designing and comic book layout creation, she decided to become an actress. She started her career with minor film and TV roles, and went on to become the voice behind several animation characters. She then joined the ‘Marvel Studio’ to learn all about comics from her father. The lessons she got from him were not just limited to business, but also extended to life in general. It was Stan who instilled the "never stop" attitude in Joan. She reciprocated her parents’ affection by penning down their love story in her first book. At present, the former actress is looking after the legacy of her father and running a website, dedicated to his life and comic characters.

Career
Joan Celia Lee's first job was a brief role in the 1963 feature film 'The Cool World.' Later, she was seen in some more projects, such as the TV series 'No Actor Parking' and the 1990 thriller movie 'The Ambulance'. She voiced for the character of a robot in the animated series 'Iron Man' in 1994. She is going to be part of the upcoming action fantasy movie 'Fuze.'
Right after finishing her graduation, Joan joined the ‘Marvel Studio’ to gain some on-hand comic making experience. The lessons she received from the 'Marvel' man shaped her career as a comic artist. Gradually, Joan emerged as an asset for the ‘Marvel Studio’. She was involved in the development of the learning app 'Raising My SuperKids' that donates a portion of its profits from sale to charity. Joan also runs the website fatsalagata.com, which is dedicated to her father’s legacy.
In October 2015, she published her first book 'Stan Lee’s Love Story’. Subtitled, ‘It's All About Love, The Stan Lee Family,’ the book provides an insight into the relationship between Joan’s parents and their married life.

Controversies & Scandals
In 2017, Joan Celia Lee was accused of physically and verbally abusing her parents. In April 2017, Stan's former business manager Bradley J. Herman claimed that Joan had allegedly tried to choke her father and slammed him against his wheelchair. Herman added that Joan was equally violent to her mother when she was alive. Stan denied the accusations, going as far as saying that he wished everyone “abused” him like his daughter did. In another instance, Stan filed a case against Joan's former business associate Jerry Olivarez, accusing him of manipulating his decision regarding handing over the power of attorney. Stan told the media that Jerry wanted him to transfer the power of attorney to him and sign a fake charity cheque of $300,000. Stan also accused one of Joan's friends, Keya Morgan, of trying to seclude him from his friends and family members. In the last days of his life, he revealed that he had to ward off multiple people who were trying to attach themselves to his fortune ever since his wife passed away. He added that the only person he trusted was Joan, and therefore, he had passed the authority of his financial affairs to her.
Family & Personal Life
Joan Celia Lee was born as Joan Celia Lieber in April 1950 to Stan Lee and his British-American model and voice actress wife, Joan Boocock Lee. Joan had a younger sister, Jan Lee, who died only three days after her birth. Joan was raised in a creative environment and learned a lot about the artistic aspects of comic book making quite early in her life. She learned to make comic book layouts while also taking an active interest in media, as her parents were part of the industry. While growing up, she also tried her hands at painting, craftwork, fashion designing and cosmetics making. As an adult, Joan went on to gain experience at the 'Marvel Studios.'
She lost her mother to a fatal stroke a year before her father Stan Lee passed away. The legendary comic book author died on 12 November 2018. He was suffering from vision problems and pneumonia for a long time that ultimately caused his death.
