Joanna Krupa is a Polish-American actress, model and an animal rights activist known for her roles in reality television shows and her appearance on many of world’s top fashion magazines. She left her hometown and arrived in Los Angeles in order to make a career in the American entertainment industry and since then, she has appeared on the covers of more than 100 magazines around the world. Maxim magazine included her in the list of ‘Hot 100’ for many years in a row and reality television producers are in awe of her. Apart from her reality TV stints, she has appeared in ‘Las Vegas’ and ‘CSI: Crime scene investigation’ and has also been a judge in ‘Poland’s Next Top Model’ regularly since she first started in 2010. Joanna is a devoted animal rights activist and apart from being in full support of PETA, she has started her own initiative ‘Angels for Animal Rescue’. Presently, Joanna is working on her own line of swimsuits, fashion accessories and Jewellery.

Childhood & Early Life
Joanna Krupa was born on 23rd April 1979 in Warsaw, Poland, in a religious catholic family to Steven and Wendy Krupa. Her younger sister, Marta, also happens to be a popular model. The family moved to Chicago while Joanna was a kid and she got enrolled at Mary Lyon Public School, and later Steinmetz High School. Joanna also took dance lessons for quite some time, which she has practised over the years. The dancing skills she possessed helped her later in the show ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
Both the sisters were interested in making career in modelling since their very early days and Joanna was way more passionate. Upon getting tired of her life in Chicago, she, against her parent’s wishes, moved to Los Angeles, influenced by all the flashy lifestyle and her dreams of making it big in the entertainment industry.

Career
Over the years, Joanna has made it to the covers of several coveted magazines in a long and eventful career as a model and actress. Envy, FHM, Personal, Inside Sport, Stuff and Shape are just a few among them. Her total count is said to be over 100 covers and for the Maxim magazine, she was regarded as the Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World.
In 2011, Maxim put her on the 55th spot for the Hot 100 rankings for the hottest women in the world. For the German issue of Maxim, she was named Model of the Year in 2003-2004 and soon, Krupa was seen on the cover of Playboy, twice. Her other modelling achievements include Miss Howard TV’s model of the month for December 2007 and a stint as a lingerie model for Frederick’s of Hollywood.
Her television roles include the show ‘The Superstars’ in 2009, where she was eliminated on the very first episode, due to injuries and hence, she was given another chance on the show. Her ballet lessons as a kid helped her in securing a place in ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in 2009.
Other television shows she has done include ‘The Man Show’, ‘Million Dollar Challenge’ and ‘Ridiculousness’, where she appeared as herself in a brief role.
In 2004, her film ‘Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon’ released to a commercial and critical failure to which the director said that she wasn’t the first choice for the role and was cast due to her contacts with the producers. She received mixed response from the critics for her role. While some thought it was largely okay, others thought it was wooden and stiff.
In 2012, she featured in ‘The Real Housewives of Miami’ and was loved by the audiences. Her little sister Marta also appears on the show. Back in her home country Poland, Krupa hosts the show ‘Poland’s Next Top Model’, and she has been a part of the show as a judge since 2010 and happens to be the most accomplished and loved judge on the entire show.
Krupa is an activist fighting for animal rights for many years, and in 2009, she appeared on PETA’s ad for dog adoption, in which Joanna was seen as an angel covering her genitalia and breasts with a cross over a church full of stray dogs. She had also appeared before that in many other PETA campaigns. For another PETA campaign, she was seen covered in body paint, in a movement against SeaWorld.
Personal Life
After a long list of boyfriends, Joanna Krupa finally settled down with her long-time boyfriend, Romain Zago, and the couple got engaged in 2010. In June 2013, the couple got married in a majestic ceremony. In July 2017, she filed for a divorce.
