Rise to Fame
Josh Bogert made his acting debut in a popular Volkswagen Tiguan commercial, in which he played a young man going to the prom. He subsequently had a decent career as a model, appearing in various other commercials. In 2016, he worked in his first short video, a music video for his own original song, ‘Drowning in the Dark’.
Bogert plays Miles Lennox, a self-described “complicated” youth with several issues, in the TV series ‘Backstage.’ He can be very kind, loyal, and creative but definitely has a sarcastic side to him. As Bogert is a singer and musician in real life, it helped him portray Miles who is a musical prodigy. Created by Jennifer Pertsch and Lara Azzopardi for the Family Channel, ‘Backstage’ premiered in Canada on March 18, 2016. In the United States, the show was aired on the Disney Channel. Besides Bogert, the show also starred Devyn Nekoda, Alyssa Trask, Aviva Mongillo, Matthew Isen, and Julia Tomasone. The story revolves around a group of artistically gifted students at the fictional Keaton School of the Arts. One of the most interesting features of the show is the constant breaking of the fourth-wall by its actors, during which they begin to communicate with the audience. This is known in the show as the “confessionals”. Bogert is now set to star in the telefilms ‘Wedding of Dreams’ and ‘It’s Christmas, Eve’.
In November 2011, he set up his YouTube channel and started uploading content in September 2015. Initially, he did a lot of covers of songs by various artists, including Justin Bieber, Meghan Trainor, Shawn Mendes, and Charlie Puth. As of 2018, he has about 35 thousand subscribers and more than one million views on the channel.
He released his debut self-titled extended play on November 11, 2016 through Cardinal Point Music record label. It is comprised of four tracks: ‘Drowning in the Dark’, ‘Best Part of Me’, ‘Run 2 You’, and ‘Far Away’.
