Josh Herbert is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. He was all of 10 when he started to play the guitar. At 12, he started recording music with his band Restraining Order. He was also part of Brunch Sounds Great, his junior high school band.

In 2012, Josh obtained a BA degree from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He has also been an assistant captain of the ice hockey team of his university for 4 years.

He is also quite popular on Instagram. He often posts short clips of his tracks on his Instagram account. He has gained thousands of followers on the platform.
