JT Casey originally started his social media journey at 16 in early 2019 by joining TikTok. He had reached 150k fans on the platform within a couple months by sharing dance and lip-sync videos. However, TikTok was not considered “cool” at the time and he was often ridiculed at school, which prompted him to even delete his account three times. Fortunately, some people from his small fan base encouraged him to make a comeback by constantly asking for more videos. He eventually returned to the platform during the summer vacations and was extra motivated to make videos seriously following his visit to VidCon, where he got to share ideas with like-minded people. He had already amassed 450K followers on TikTok when, just as the schools reopened, one of his videos went viral on the platform and earned two million likes.

His subsequent videos were equally successful and he continued to add about a hundred thousand followers every three days. He got verified on TikTok a week later. At that moment, he decided to leave school to fully focus on social media if he hit one million subscribers before the next semester starts. As wild as it may sound, he reached the milestone within a month, following which he switched to homeschooling and hired a manager to seek more opportunities. In February 2020, he was featured on the “Heard Well” YouTube channel where he gave fans his top 5 tips for successfully growing their TikTok account. Over the next couple years, he shifted focus towards other social media platforms and changed his content a lot, but managed to retain his popularity on TikTok, on which he now boasts of 4.3 million fans.

While JT Casey had joined YouTube back in 2012, he began uploading on his channel on June 27, 2019 with the video, I got my sister an iPhone XR for her birthday... (she cried). His early videos mostly covered various TikTok tips or documented his life as a TikTok star. He addressed a potential TikTok ban in the US in a video dated August 3, 2020. He also often posted vlogs and pranks, usually featuring his sister Amanda or his best friend, popular YouTuber Stephen Sharer.

Soon after YouTube Shorts was released as a beta in the United States in March 2021, he switched to posting mostly shorts on his YouTube channel, starting with the video “SMOKE BOMB + IPHONE PRANK #shorts” on March 24. In the comment section of the same video, he revealed his intention of posting regular shorts on his channel and also uploading normal videos weekly. While he did continue to post shorts on his channel regularly in the following months, he has hardly uploaded any normal-length video on YouTube until very recently. He now occasionally posts reaction videos on his channel, usually reacting to popular TikTok trends. He rarely posts on his TikTok profile, which redirects his fans towards his YouTube channel, where he uploads up to a dozen “shorts” a day.

JT Casey (James Thomas Casey) was born on January 29, 2003 in California, United States. He is the older of two siblings and has a sister named Amanda. His sister, as well as his parents, regularly features on his social media posts. He has been very passionate about acting since he was very young and appeared in several commercials even before he earned fame on TikTok. Following his TikTok success, he left school and began homeschooling.

He is currently in a relationship with fellow TikTok star Amara Cordova, whom he began dating in August 2020. The couple was recently spotted at the premiere of Amazon Studios film I Want You Back in Los Angeles, California on February 8, 2022.
