Kady McDermott Biography

Kady McDermott was working as a make-up artist in Stevenage before she stepped into the limelight as the latest entrant in the 'Love Island' villa on Day 3 of the second season. She was chosen by the audience over Chelsea Kelly, and was paired with Scott Thomas. Over the course of the show’s airing in 2016, she graced the pages of tabloids several times for varied reasons. After the show ended, she launched her online fitness program, 'Bikini Plan', with personal trainer Sam Whitter. She also launched her '100 percent animal-free' cosmetics brand, 'By Kady'. More recently, she established an interior design project called, ‘Our Bungalow Project’. She also worked with an animal sanctuary based in Tangier, Morocco.

Kady McDermott was born on September 4, 1995 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England. She was raised by her mother who she is very close to. Kady is also known by her nickname 'Ronni'. It was revealed after she joined 'Love Island' that she works out four times a day. She was paired with Scott Thomas on the show. Incidentally, she was in a relationship with model Sam Reece a few months before joining the show. However, the relationship seems to have ended on a bad note as Reece indirectly called her 'immature' on Twitter while reacting to her meltdown on ‘Love Island’ after Scott got close to new entrant Tina. Kady also went on a date with newcomer James Khan. During the show, she and Scott once got into a heated conversation, which earned her 'detention' in a room. While Scott had stated that their relationship would never work, they got back together and went on a romantic holiday to the Maldives after the show ended. She even moved in together with Scott and adopted a pet dog named Cody. Nevertheless, they broke up and un-followed each-other on social media in August 2017. She later told 'The Sun' that she did not like the fact that Scott partied a lot, which caused a rift between the two. She revealed that they called it quits after he swore at her during a heated row. She began dating 'TOWIE' star Myles Barnett in August 2017. Kady appeared on his television series alongside his former girlfriend and co-star Courtney Green in September 2018.

Kady McDermott faced criticism over her lifestyle and spending habits in October 2016. In November 2017, a petition was filed at Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, where she was scheduled to do the honors of switching on the Christmas lights. Over 550 parents claimed that she was a 'bad influence' on their children and forced the concerned authorities to drop her name from the event. The incident left Kady fuming on social media over 'absolutely disgusting' comments by 'bullies' and 'trolls'. In February 2019, she got embroiled in a bigger controversy after she called the toddler daughter of glamour model and former 'TOWIE' star Maria Fowler "vile" following a bitter spat over the design of her Instagram page. After people noticed the similarities between the Instagram page of Kady's 'Our Village Project' and Fowler's 'Project in a Village' page, Fowler reached out to her to sort things out. A war of words ensued, which Fowler shared on social media, revealing Kady's comment on her daughter. Disgusted by Kady’s attitude, people began abusing her in comments, issuing death threats, asking her to kill herself, and wishing cancer on her. Kady apologized to Fowler publicly, stating that she regretted making an inappropriate comment on her child. Later, Fowler urged people to stop harassing Kady, admitting that she had once faced a similar situation. Kady’s boyfriend Barnett also posted a message on his Instagram page, urging people to stop sending her death threats.
