Kai Madison Trump was born on May 12, 2007, in New York City, New York, US, in the family of American businessman and former reality TV personality, Donald Trump Jr. and his wife Vanessa Trump as their eldest child among two girls and three boys. Her parents had tied the knot two years back at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, on November 12, 2005.

An interesting story surrounds the birth of Kai, who was born two weeks early. While Donald Jr. and Vanessa were playing hosts of an Operation Smile event, Vanessa broke her water but continued with the event maintaining a smiling face for over an hour. Thereafter, she was taken to the hospital where she delivered healthy Kai weighing 6lb and 12oz following a labour of around 21 hours.

Kai’s grandmother Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump, was elated with the news of becoming a grandmother for the first time and told the ‘Daily News’, "Now I am a grandma," and furthered it by saying "What a great Mother's Day present!" Ivana received the news in the Bahamas while participating at the opening of The Cove Atlantis on Paradise Island and immediately took a flight to meet the new bundle of joy in the Trump household.

Donald Trump, floored by the beauty of his first granddaughter and impressed by her wonderful hair, insisted that Kai was the most beautiful child he ever came across. Her uncle Barron Trump, youngest child of President Donald Trump born of his third and present wife Melania Trump, is only 14 months older to her that saw her parents taking parenting tips from President Donald Trump.

She is quite popular in the Trump household and gets along very well with her aunt, Ivanka Trump. Donald Trump is also quite fond of her and she was seen many a times with him during election campaigns. While accompanying her grandfather, she grabbed much media attention which has only heightened after Donald Trump became the 45th and current President of the United States assuming office on January 20, 2017.

She and her brother, Donald Trump III, are presently attending a school in Manhattan. Her father threw a memorable birthday bash for his darling daughter on her ninth birthday in May 2016.
