Kap G’s wonderful ability to remix the songs of other artists earned him recognition and a subsequent deal with ‘Atlantic Records,’ which turned out to be his big breakthrough. After securing a life-changing deal with ‘Atlantic Recording Corporation’ in 2015, Kap G released his hit mixtape ‘El Southside’ in 2016, which featured artists like YFN Lucci and Young Thug. The mixtape had one of his biggest hit singles titled ‘Girlfriend,’ which received a Gold certification by ‘Recording Industry Association of America’ (RIAA). The single peaked at number ten and at number three on the ‘Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles’ chart and the ‘Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles’ chart respectively. Kap G has also appeared in a film titled ‘Dope,’ and in a television series called ‘Wild 'N Out.’

Childhood & Early Life
Kap G was born George Ramirez on July 31, 1994, in College Park, Georgia, United States of America to parents of Mexican origin. He was raised in the Atlanta metropolitan area in Georgia. Kap G had a tough childhood as he found it very difficult to make friends in a neighborhood that had a predominant African-American population.
He had ‘Fulton County School System’ education at ‘Tri-Cities High School’ at East Point, Georgia. After graduating from ‘Tri-Cities High School,’ Kap G told his parents that he wanted to pursue a career in the field of music, which did not go down well with them as his parents wanted him to pursue higher education.
However, Kap G was clear about becoming famous through his music. Having been bullied during his childhood, Kap G wanted to achieve something substantial in order to prove to others what he was capable of. Hence, he started focusing on music and joined a teen group called ‘Kids At Play’ (KAP). ‘KAP’ along with his initial ‘G’ would later become his stage name.

Career
Kap G made a big breakthrough by collaborating with the famous rapper and record producer Chief Keef. In 2012, Chief Keef was featured on Kap G’s single titled ‘Tatted Like Amigos,’ which marked his debut as a rapper. In 2013, he released another single called ‘Jose Got Dem Tacos,’ which featured another popular rapper, Jeezy. He also worked on a number of remixes by remixing songs of other artists. These remixes along with his high-profile collaborations helped him gain popularity among music lovers and record producers.
On March 6, 2014, Kap G came up with a mixtape titled ‘Like a Mexican,’ which became a critically acclaimed mixtape. Meanwhile, his remixes drew the attention of songwriter and record producer Kawan Prather. With the help of Prather, Kap G secured a breakthrough deal in 2015, when he was signed by one of the major American record labels, ‘Atlantic Records.’ His collaboration with ‘Atlantic Records’ earned him an opportunity to work with the famous rapper and record producer, Pharrell Williams.
In 2015, Kap G appeared as Fidel (cameo) in a comedy film titled ‘Dope.’ A coming-of-age film, ‘Dope’ also featured one of his soundtracks. On March 7, 2016, Kap G released another mixtape titled ‘El Southside,’ which went on to become one of his biggest hits. The mixtape featured artists like YFN Lucci, Young Thug, and Cash Out. The mixtape contained one of his biggest hit singles ‘Girlfriend,’ which received Gold certification by the RIAA.
He then came up with his debut album titled ‘SupaJefe,’ which was released on April 14, 2017. For the album, Kap G collaborated with the likes of Chris Brown, Dae Dae, and Pharrell Williams.
In 2018, Kap G joined hands with Paty Cantú and Sofia Reyes for a song titled ‘Vamos por la Estrella.’ The song was dedicated to the national soccer team of Mexico to celebrate the team’s entry into the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
