Kate Siegel is an American actress and screenwriter best known for starring in the 2016 slasher movie Hush and the 2018 supernatural horror drama television series The Haunting of Hill House. She also co-wrote the screenplay of Hush. The actress is known for her collaborations with her filmmaker husband Mike Flanagan who, himself, is known for his horror films. They first worked together in the 2013 film Oculus and since then have come together for various other projects, including Hush and The Haunting of Hill House. Though her collaboration with Flanagan has proved hugely successful, she has also worked on other projects that does not involve him. Earlier, she pursued an acting course from the Syracuse University and began acting on stage. She made her film debut with The Curse of the Black Dahlia while her television debut came with Ghost Whisperer.

Though Siegel has acted in a number of projects, she is best known for her collaborations with her husband and filmmaker Mike Flanagan. The two first worked together in the 2013 supernatural, psychological horror film Oculus, co-written, edited and directed by Flanagan.
Thereafter, in 2016, came the nail-biting horror thriller Hush wherein Kate Siegel played a deaf and mute writer whose tranquil life in the woods is threatened when a ruthless masked killer begins to stalk her. The film received appreciation and Siegel received nominations at various award functions. Apart from acting in the film, she also co-wrote the script together with Flanagan.
The two worked together again in the 2016 supernatural horror film Ouija: Origin of Evil and the 2017 psychological horror film Gerald's Game before coming together for the Netflix supernatural horror drama series The Haunting of Hill House in 2018. Loosely drawing from Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel, the drama was the first in Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting anthology series and had Siegal playing the adult Theodora Theo Crain. The series premiered on Netflix in 2020 and saw the return of several actors, including Siegal, from the first series.
