Family, Personal Life & Career
Katelyn Nacon was born on June 11, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Mark and Natalie Nacon. She graduated high school on May 26, 2017.
She started training in ballet at age 3, at the ‘Woodstock School of Ballet’ in Canton. She also performed in ‘Metro Atlanta’ musicals such as ‘Annie,’ ‘The Music Man,’ ‘Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,’ and ‘Hairspray.’
She started taking more interest in acting by the time she was 13. She also trained under industry experts at workshops and classes in Atlanta and Los Angeles. In 2013, she acted in a supporting role in her first film, ‘Loving Generously,’ which was a local industrial film.
Her first national TV appearance was in the ‘ABC’ fantasy–drama ‘Resurrection’ in 2014, but she received real recognition for her performance as ‘Chloe Cook’ in the dark comedy TV short ‘Too Many Cooks,’ which was aired during the ‘Adult Swim’ hours on ‘Cartoon Network.’ The video went viral on ‘YouTube,’ which ultimately resulted in her bagging ‘Enid’s role in the widely popular horror series ‘The Walking Dead,’ in 2015. In an interview to ‘Vanity Fair,’ Nacon revealed her overwhelming reaction to the big news of her earning the part. ‘Enid’ was introduced in the fifth season of the show, as a guest character. However, because of Nacon’s excellent performance in the role, she became one of the stars of the show in its eighth season. Maintaining the shock and awe that was characteristic of the show, Enid’s character was “killed,” along with 10 other characters, in the ninth season.
In 2016, Nacon was cast in a psychological thriller web series named ‘T@gged.’ Its third season ended in December 2018.
Nacon’s passion for music did not die under the pressure of her acting career. In 2015, she released her first EP, ‘Love in May,’ which had five tracks, all written and composed by her. She released a self-composed single, ‘Undone,’ in October 2018.
She recently moved to California to join the cast of the ‘Hulu’ supernatural thriller ‘Light as Feather,’ as part of its second season. Nacon seems to be at ease with her ways of moulding herself into a character, notwithstanding her tender age.
She has revealed in her interviews that she follows the method of empathy to create the characters she plays. It is laudable that unlike other actors and celebrities of her age, Nacon has kept herself grounded and appreciates the love and support of her parents, friends, and teachers, despite being popular. She is also popular on social media, which is evident from the one million followers she has on ‘Instagram.’
