Kathryn Dennis Biography

Kathryn Dennis was born as Kathryn Calhoun Dennis on 5 August 1992 to Luke Dennis and his wife Allison Dennis. She grew up in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She attended the 'Berkeley High School', graduating from there in 2009. She then studied visual communication, journalism and fashion at the 'University of South Carolina.' At the university, Kathryn was involved in several volunteer activities, including the 'Andre Bauer For Governor Campaign' and the 'Red Ribbon Week Campaign.' She also worked for Joe Wilson's political campaigns. Kathryn also served as the recruitment chairperson and creative director at the 'University of South Carolina College Republicans'. In 2011, she helped raise money for the foundation, ‘Race for the Cure’. A year later, she modelled for a benefit event called 'Couture for a Cure'. She then went on to model for several prominent brands and publications, including 'Azalea.'

Kathryn Dennis's first paid job was as a receptionist when she was still in high school. She initially worked as a front desk employee at the 'Old Santee Canal Park' and then at the 'Fitness World.' Later, she served as a page at the South Carolina Senate before becoming an intern in the Lieutenant Governor's office. In 2014, Kathryn joined the cast of Bravo’s reality series 'Southern Charm,' which revolves around the lives of seven South Carolina-based socialites. Her 70 episode-run on the show ended in 2018. In the meantime, Kathryn made appearances on 'Watch What Happens: Live,’ a pop culture-based late-night talk show. She was also a guest on the syndicated entertainment news program, 'Celebrity Page.' Lately, Kathryn has ventured into several business ventures, mostly related to fashion and lifestyle. She also launched a line of children's furniture called 'Kensie + Saint.' Kathryn is the brand ambassador for a Charleston department store called 'Gwynn's.' The reality star is looking forward to become a creative partner at the 'Gwynn's Studio.' She is also involved in redesigning vintage items by giving them a modern twist.

Kathryn Dennis had an on-and-off relationship with politician and former State Treasurer Thomas Ravenel. They both starred on the reality show 'Southern Charm,' where they met for the first time. Even though Thomas is 30 years older than Kathryn, the two appeared to adore each other and eventually fell in love. They have two children together: Kensington Calhoun Ravenel, born in 2014; and St. Julien Rembert Ravenel, born in 2016. The first cracks began to appear in their relationship in 2014, but they reconciled after Kensington’s birth. The problem between the two flared up again in May 2016, and they have been in a legal feud ever since. Kathryn lost her children's custody due to her drug addiction and was barred from visiting them too often. She was found to be taking marijuana, amphetamine and cocaine. She spent some time in rehab. But soon after that, she was charged with underage drinking and disorderly conduct and was sentenced to a Berkeley jail. At that time, Thomas was given the temporary custody of their children for about two years.

Kathryn, however, did not give up on her children's custody and again filed an appeal in court. She accused Thomas of drug abuse. After that, she was granted the joint care of her children. Unfortunately, the arrangement did not bring peace to their relationship. On the reality show, Kathryn spoke about her issues to her children's godparents, JD Madison and Elizabeth. Thomas, on the other hand, showed his resentment through his Instagram posts. According to a July 2018 article posted on 'The RadarOnline,' the problem between Kathryn and Thomas started when their child's nanny accused him of sexually assaulting her in 2015. Thomas reportedly paid money to the nanny to withdraw the case. Currently, his child custody matter is on hold, and he is under investigation by the Charleston Police Department. Although Kathryn has not commented on the issue, a few sources close to her have revealed that the sexual assault charges on Thomas might swing the custody battle in Kathryn’s favour.

Kathryn Dennis's grandfather Rembert Coney Dennis was an influential politician. The Senator served in the South Carolina legislature for nearly 50 years.

The seventh vice president of the United States, John C. Calhoun, is one of Kathryn's forefathers. He played a crucial role in 'Great Triumvirate.'
