Kaylee Bryant Biography

Kaylee Bryant began working as a child model for Ralph Lauren when she was only seven years old, and continued to make appearances in print campaigns for the brand for seven seasons until she was ten. She loved being on the set and began her acting career when she was about eight. She was particularly inspired by Disney movies that she often watched skipping school, pretending to be sick.

At the age of 12, she got her first Disney Channel episode, which provided a great learning opportunity. In the following years, she did a short role in 'American Horror Story' and appeared in Disney shows such as 'Dog with a Blog', 'A.N.T. Farm' and 'Kickin' It'. In 2014, she made her film debut in the role of Mary Solis in the horror-thriller 'Mary Loss of Soul'. Later on, she bagged recurring roles in series like 'Chasing Life', 'The Real O'Neals', and 'Santa Clarita Diet', apart from roles in the movie 'Double Daddy' (2015) and the telefilm 'What Goes Around Comes Around' (2016). She got the role of her dreams when she was cast as Josie Saltzman in the supernatural drama series 'Legacies' in 2018. The series has been very popular and has already been renewed for a second season.

According to Kaylee Bryant, she is "real" and "hardworking", and at the same time "ridiculous" because she doesn't take herself too seriously all the time. She enjoyed portraying different roles for her Disney shows, "from a mean cheerleader to a dorky girl with a lisp". She also loved playing Mary Solis, a character based in reality despite the supernatural things happening around her. However, it is safe to say that she took the role of Josie Saltzman most seriously. At the age of 15, she binge-watched 'The Vampire Diaries' series for the first time, with her mother, and remained a fan of the series ever since.

When she got the chance to audition for the spin-off series 'Legacies', despite fake sides and characters, she was convinced that she was auditioning for the Saltzman twins. While she was right about that, she and her cast-mate Jenny Boyd, who was cast as the other twin, were not sure about who would portray which twin. Before the filming of the show even started, they met up a few times in Los Angeles and joked about who would have to go blonde. As a fan of the series, she has been extra cautious not to disappoint fans with her portrayal of the character. After getting the role of Josie, she decided to live the character even while not shooting, and to serve that purpose, she began writing letters to the other characters regularly and also created a playlist to immerse into the character.

Kaylee Bryant was born as Kaylee Kaneshiro on November 1, 1997, in Orange County California, United States to Garrett and Kristina Kaneshiro. She has an older brother named Kane Kaneshiro. She has Japanese ancestry. Because she started her career as a child, she was homeschooled since the age of 12, and was able to accelerate through her classes. At fifteen, she started her junior year at high school instead of sophomore year. She is a good singer, and has learnt to play cello after one of her friends gave her a free cello lesson and rented a cello for her. She has two pet dogs named Barrett and Bophi, and loves to go on hiking with them.

She is a fan of actresses Carey Mulligan, Michelle Williams, and Alicia Vikander. She is also very fond of Tatiana Maslany, known for portraying multiple characters in the science fiction television series 'Orphan Black'. She named her old car after one of those characters and also wants Maslany to portray her if a movie is made on her life.
