Keith Powers Biography

Keith Powers became famous for his role of Theo alongside Gregg Sulkin in the hit comedy series, Faking It. It was created by Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov, on MTV. The show was on air for three seasons. The actor also played the role of Dr. Dre’s half-brother Tyree Crayon in Straight Outta Compton (2015), which was an American biographical film. This role is among the most important work that he has done so far. The JE Model agency in San Francisco scouted Keith Powers when he was just nine years old. This exposure was enough for the Faking it actor to try out various things. He continued to do modeling and was signed by the reputed modeling agency Wilhelmina. He has endorsed well-known brands like Calvin Klein, GQ,Guess, Sketchers, K-Mart, Sears, Kohls, and many more. The model also tried his hand at football before realizing that acting was his true calling. He took the initial steps into acting with a big break in Warner Brothers direct-to-video comedy film House Party: Tonight's the Night (2013), in which he was offered the lead role. He followed this up with Straight Outta Compton. In 2015, Keith landed the role of La Darius Pope in Yahoo's comedy series Sin City Saints, where he portrays a rookie basketball player.

Though the model-actor doesn’t get to pick his roles but he says that he would like to play roles that are absolutely different from his real life. Keith Powers is fascinated by acting because it lets him become someone new each time. His character of La Darius Pope in Sin City Saints is unlike what he is in real life. In an interview Keith said that he faced a lot of challenges when he started out. He says he used to give the best during auditions and yet not get the part. Many times he was very close to being selected but got rejected. But the talented person never gave up and stayed “faithful and confident” and continued to do better. He also struggled while annunciating his words but kept trying.

When Straight Outta Compton was being thought about, a controversy broke out as some people did not want the movie to be made and small arguments also took place on the sets. The movie is an American biographical film which traces the career of gangsta rap group N.W.A.; it did well at the box office. Keith Powers revealed to Galore Magazine that his girl crush was Zendaya but she has never responded to him. The cutest thing that the rising star has done for a girl is to send flowers and chocolates. He also likes to write something on a card.

Keith Powers was raised by his mother, Jennifer Clark in his hometown of Sacramento, California. He presently resides in Los Angeles, California. The model and actor studied at Sheldon High School and graduated in 2010. He has a brother named Kevin Powers. Keith Powers was in a relationship with Ryan Destiny from 2018 to 2022.
