Career
Prior to meeting Williams, Hunter was the owner of a hair salon. He also used to promote parties. During this period, Williams worked as a radio presenter. He first became her manager and then her husband, helping her rapid rise in the world of entertainment. They set up The Wendy Williams Productions, a reality television company, together. ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ premiered on July 14, 2008, on syndication. Since 2011, Hunter has been serving as the executive producer on the show. According to an insider source, Hunter has the full control over the show and Williams is simply the host. Controversies & Scandals
Hunter and Williams have been married for over two decades. During this period, the relationship has encountered several issues, many of which were caused by Hunter. In 2001, Williams discovered that Hunter was cheating on her. This was not long after the birth of their son, Kevin Jr. In an Interview to ‘Essence,’ she later stated that if her younger self had been told that she would continue living with someone who had cheated on her, she would have definitely called it a lie. Despite this, Williams decided to stay with her husband and has since said that she does not regret it. She even stated that the cheating made their marriage stronger.
In September 2017, several reports alleged that Hunter was having a decade-long affair with a massage therapist named Sharina Hudson. In 2015, he apparently moved her into his condo in Fort Lee, New Jersey. However, according to ‘Daily Mail,’ Hunter later relocated her to a $765,000 house in Morristown. Williams later spoke about the allegations on her show and vehemently denied them.
In 2008, Nicole Spence, Williams’ right-hand woman in the studio, accused Hunter of sexual harassment in papers filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Spence also accused Hunter of threatening and physically abusing his wife in the studio and asking Spence for sexual favours multiple times. In June 2008, Spence sued Hunter,
Williams, and Inner City Broadcasting Corporation in a federal court in Manhattan. However, in October, the court dismissed the lawsuit “with prejudice.”
In 2012, a sex tape began to circulate on the internet that showed a man, who many presumed to be Hunter, and a woman, who did not look even remotely like Williams. As with other accusations of infidelity against her husband, she refused to accept that this could be true as well.
