Kevin Olusola, born Kevin Oluwole Olusola, is an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He is best recognized as the beatboxer of the band Pentatonix and has released five albums with the group, including PTX, Volume 1 and PTX, Vol. II. Olusola, who is known for developing the art of celloboxing i.e. playing cello and beatboxing simultaneously, is also a songwriter. He has co-written four songs for PTX, Vol. II, including Natural Disaster, Hey Momma/Hit the Road Jack, Love Again and Run to You. Olusola released his solo EP, The Renegade EP. He has performed at several musical festivals, such as Kronberg Academy Festival and the Amsterdam Cello Biennale. He has opened TED Conference in Vancouver and was even chosen by Quincy Jones to represent the latter in a concert at the 2012 Montreux Jazz Festival. Kevin Olusola is fluent in Mandarin.

Kevin Olusola started learning the piano at the age of four, cello at the age of six and alto saxophone at the age of ten. He was involved in music programs in his grade school and participated in jazz band, concert band, marching band and community youth orchestra. At age 12, Kevin Olusola was selected as the chief saxophonist of the United States Collegiate Wind Band and the principal cellist of Kentucky State Youth Orchestra. Kevin Olusola toured a lot with the bands, performing at various events and festivals.
Kevin Olusola then moved to Beijing and continued to hone his celloboxing skills. He then began uploading his celloboxing covers to his own YouTube channel. He also performed for Jon Huntsman, Jr. and did covers with rapper KorElement. Soon after this, he and YouTube star Jake Bruene videotaped Julie-O. After the video’s success, Kevin Olusola was contacted by Scott Hoying and was requested to join his group Pentatonix; he joined Avi Kaplan, Kirstie Maldonado, and Mitch Grassi to compete in the 3rd season of NBC’s The Sing-Off.
Pentatonix won The Sing-Off which landed them a contract with Sony Music Entertainment. Pentatonix then immediately recorded their first album. Their first EP, PTX, Volume 1 was released in June 2012. The same year, the group released their Christmas EP titled PTXmas. After their winter–spring 2013 tour, the group began recording their second EP, PTX, Vol. II, which was released in Nov 2013. Kevin Olusola also co-wrote four songs for this album, including Natural Disaster, Hey Momma/Hit the Road Jack, Love Again, and Run to You.
Kevin Olusola was born Kevin Oluwole Olusola on October 5, 1988, in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA, to Curline Paul and Oluwole Olusola. He has a sister named Candace and a brother named Kellon. Olusola began his education at the Greater Philadelphia Junior Academy. He later moved to Owensboro where he attended the Triplett School for a short time. He then transferred him to Owensboro Public School. After this, Kevin Olusola enrolled at the Phillips Academy Andover. After graduating from Andover, he chose to attend Yale University.
Kevin Olusola got engaged to his girlfriend, Leigh, in In October 2018. They married in 2019. Their first child, Kaia Noelle, was born on April 3, 2021.
