Kiari Cephus is an American rapper and one of the members of the hip hop trio ‘Migos’; he is better known by his stage name Offset. He came to limelight as their group Migos reached the height of success in 2013 with the release of their viral hit single, “Versace”. After release of the mixtape Young Rich Niggas in June 2013, Offset did not look back. The release of ‘No Label 2’ and ‘One Time’ in the subsequent years took the popularity of Migos and Kiari Cephus to an all-time high. In 2015, Kiari was arrested along with his group members on charges of possession of marijuana and firearms and had to spend four months in custody. Currently, he is out on five years’ probation. The second studio album, “Culture” from the group, which features DJ Khaled in its opening track, was released in January, 2017 and was an instant hit.

Kiari Cephus formed the Hip Hop trio ‘Migos’ along with the two other members of the group, Quavo and Takeoff, in 2009. However, it was not really a smooth sail for the group right in the beginning. At first the group was named Polo Club. In 2010, the group was renamed as Migos. The first mixed tape from Migos was released in 2012 and right from then the career of Kiari took an upward turn. In 2013, their viral hit, “Versace” came out which reached number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart of US and the mixtape ‘Y.R.N’. got the status of the 27th best album released in 2013.
The second mixtape from the band was released in 2014, under the title ‘No label 2’ and was an instant hit. It garnered positive reviews from the critics too. Kiari Cephus’s career took a flight when Migos announced the release of a full-fledged album and signed a deal with 300 Entertainment. The first album from Migos, ‘Yung Rich Nation’, came out in July 2015 and it reached at number 3 in the list of the Top Rap Albums chart. Culture, the second studio album by Migos, was released in January 2017 and debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200.

Controversies & Scandals
Kiari Cephus’s first big brush with controversy happened when the hip hop trio along with 12 other associates of Migos was arrested for possession of marijuana and firearms, in April 2015, which also resulted in the postponement of Migos’s Yung Rich Nation Tour. On May 2015, Offset received severe additional charges for attacking an inmate in the custody.
Finally, he was released in December 2015 after accepting a plea deal. He had to pay a fine and is currently serving 5 years of probation as well as banishment from four counties. However, this did not end the legal issues in his life. In 2016, he was booked for driving without a proper license.

Kiari Cephus was born on 14 December 1991, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, U.S. There is not much information available about his personal life before he formed Migos along with the other two members of the group. The other two members of the group, Quavious Keyate Marshall (Quavo) and Kirshnik Khari Ball (Takeoff), are his direct relatives and the trio was raised together in Lawrenceville, Georgia. By relation, Kiari is Quavo’s cousin and uncle of Takeoff.
Even after fame touched Kiari, he has always stayed away from affairs and relationships, at least publicly. However, he seems to have regular problems with the law enforcement agencies, though he has been trying to stay sober after his release in 2015. According to the critics, if the members of Migos can handle their fame and money properly, they can actually become the next big thing in the hip hop arena.
