Controversies & Scandals

The Colombian YouTuber stirred up a major controversy on social media networks when she stated in a video that according to her religious beliefs, it was not good to be homosexual but she still “tolerated” them. Some fellow YouTubers immediately called her up and confronted her for her negative comments on the LGBTIQ community. Many Latino influencers who have openly declared themselves homosexuals and several of her channel’s viewers who are struggling to break away from the stereotypes and taboos surrounding homosexuality were deeply hurt by her comments. Kika soon uploaded another video in which she apologised for her “mistake” of using the word “tolerate”, and explained that she meant to say that she “respects” the LGBTIQ community.

Personal Life

Kika Nieto was born on January 30, 1993, in Colombia, to Irma Marquez and Mario Nieto. She has an elder sister, Jacqueline Nieto Marquez. She loved to dance from her childhood. She is a graphic designer by profession.

In May 2009, she began dating fellow YouTuber Santiago Macias, who is also known as Santimaye in the YouTube community. They got engaged in June 2018 and married after three months. She is fond of pets and has two cats called Nico and Kelly. In 2017, she adopted a dog, who she named Queen.
