Kira Girard first appeared in ‘Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition’ in 2013. The following year, she joined the reality TV dance show ‘Dance Moms’ along with her daughter, Kalani. However, they left the dance show after the midseason finale of its season 4. Following their departure, Girard posted on Twitter that she chose her family over fame. She also spoke to ‘International Business Times’ and stated that she pulled her daughter from the show in response to an appeal to sign a 7-year contract in order to continue on Season 4. However, Girard and Kalani later returned on the fifth season of ‘Dance Moms.’

Criminal Charges & Arrest

In 2005, Kira Girard was arrested on charges of theft and fraud. Her charges included one count of attempted theft and four counts of felony theft. It was later revealed that she had been engaged in the crime of fraudulently scamming people into buying Plasma HDTVs via eBay. It was also disclosed that Girard had asked her customers to send her money through electronic transfer or a personal check but never delivered their merchandise nor refunded their money on being questioned.

Girard had allegedly scammed four people into buying the TV sets for an amount of $15,525. In the end, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years of probation along with a fine of $5,975. Her probation was later extended in 2009 when the court learned that she had not completed even a single hour of the 400 hours of community service she had previously been ordered to.

During this period, when the police officials arrived with a search warrant at Girard’s then-boyfriend’s house, they found syringes filled with anabolic steroids. Girard, however, denied any involvement in the case.
