Lauren Bowles is an American actress and writer best known for portraying the role of Holly Cleary on the HBO original series ‘True Blood’. She got inspired for acting by her nine years older half-sister, and through George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's comedy production ‘The Man Who Came to Dinner’ while she was in seventh grade. Being hooked up on acting and after deciding to pursue her career as an actress, she studied Drama at New York University. In 1991, she made her debut with the role of a waitress in TV series ‘Seinfeld’. After working in many TV series, she made her debut in films with the movie ‘George of the Jungle’ in 1997. She was featured in numerous television series and films in her career. Her television credits include a main role in short-lived TV series ‘Watching Ellie’ and a recurring role in ‘True Blood’. Apart from acting, she has also done a PSA for an anti-bullying campaign named ‘It Gets Better’. On personal note, she married fellow actor Patrick Fischler in 2004 in Florence, Italy. She met Fischler during her college years and the couple has a daughter.

Lauren Bowles started her professional acting career in 1991 with a TV series named ‘Seinfeld’ in which she portrayed the role of a waitress. She was featured in it from 1991 to 1998 in total nine episodes. Alongside it, she made appearances in TV series ‘The Uninvited’ (1996), ‘Townies’ (1996) before making her film debut in the movie named ‘George of the Jungle’ in 1997. She then appeared in the movie ‘Ghost World’ in 2001 before bagging the main role of Susan in short-lived TV series ‘Watching Ellie’ from 2002 to 2003.
She then moved to appeared in TV series ‘Arrested Development’ (2004), ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ (2005), ‘Criminal Minds’ (2008), ‘ER’ (2008) and ‘StarStruck’ (2010). Simultaneously she was featured in movies ‘Spartan’ (2004), ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ (2007) and ‘Dance Flick’ (2009). In 2010, she appeared in the vampire television series, ‘True Blood’ as a Wiccan named Holly Cleary.
She was then featured in several movies including ‘Hall Pass’ (2011), ‘Free Birds’ (2013), ‘Underdog Kids’ (2015) and ‘Little Star’. Her television credits include ‘The Closer’ (2011), ‘Scandal’ (2014) and ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ (2015). She also made appearance in three episodes of the TV series ‘Veep’ from 2016 to 2017. In 2018, she was featured in ‘The 5th Quarter’, ‘Another Period’ and ‘Castle Rock’. Currently, she appears on the XM radio's ‘Take Five’ channel, on which she is featuring for their ‘Five Minute Magazine’.
