Lindsay Shookus is a reputed American television producer best known for producing ‘Saturday Night Live’, a popular NBC late-night live variety television show, for which she has won one of her seven ‘Emmy Awards’. A prolific TV producer, she is also the person behind ‘30 Rock’, ‘Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update Thursday’, ‘Saturday Night Live: 40th Anniversary Special’ and other variety entertainment shows. While definitely not a stranger in Hollywood, she came more into the limelight for being romantically involved with movie star Ben Affleck, with whom she is currently living. Considered to be among the most powerful music executives in America, Lindsay was among the 200 influential women invited to participate in the 2016 Marie Claire’s Power Trip conference.

Career
Soon after she graduated in 2002, Lindsay Shookus was hired as a production assistant by Marci Klein to work on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL). In a 2015 interview, she recalled that she watched Bruce Springsteen performing on the show four days into her career as a production assistant. In 2008, she was promoted as an associate producer of SNL. In 2010, Lindsay became a co-producer and two years later, producer of ‘SNL’, a show so successful that the ‘Billboard’ labeled it the "gatekeeper" of music influence on late-night television.
As a producer. her responsibilities include heading the talent department of the show, scouting for and auditioning cast members, and booking musical guests and hosts. As SNL’s producer, she wieldS enormous power and according to ‘Billboard’ was directly responsible for featuring ‘Chance the Rapper’ and ‘A Tribe Called Quest’ on the show. Between 2008 and 2010, she also was involved in the production of 45 episodes of ‘30 Rock’, a popular satirical sitcom. During the course of her long association with ‘Saturday Night Live’, she has worked with Lorne Michaels, the show’s iconic creator.
Lindsay Shookus has dedicated herself to elevating the profile of ‘Saturday Night Live’ with a discerning choice of quality content and interesting guests and show hosts. In 2015, she produced 'Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special' starring celebrities like Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Justin Timberlake, Robert de Niro, Will Pharel, among others. The show was very well received and Lindsay went on to receive an ‘Emmy’ for her efforts. A commercial of the show was even aired during ‘Super Bowl XLIX’. For two consecutive years, 2015 and 2016, she found herself included in the ‘Billboard’ list of the ‘50 Most Powerful Music Executives’. In 2015, she was named among up-and-coming executives in Hollywood by ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.
In 2016, Shookus was nominated twice for Emmys, once for ‘Outstanding Variety Sketch Series’ in ‘SNL’, and the other for ‘Outstanding Variety Special, Adele Live in New York City. She was also the winner of Primetime Emmy Outstanding Variety Sketch Series’, ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 2017. In 2014, 2017, and 2018, she was a nominee for ‘Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment & Talk Television’ ‘PGA’ awards for the same show.

Lindsay Anne Shookus was born on June 18, 1980, in Williamsville, New York to Robert and Christine Shookus. Robert is a entrepreneur who owns Nelson-Heintz & Shookus, a manufacturer’s representative for consumer electronic products and housewares, in Buffalo, while her mother, Christine, is employed with a biotechnology company, ‘Gilead Sciences’. Lindsay spent her childhood in Williamsville and attended Williamsville South High School. After high school, she studied enrolled in 1998 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study journalism and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2002 from there.
In September 2002 on her very first day at work, she met Kevin Michael Miller, a writer’s assistant working for ‘Saturday Night Live’ at NBC’s ‘Rockefeller Center’ offices. They dated for eight years and got married in 2010. In early 2013, the couple had a daughter named Madeline. Lindsay and Kevin separated in 2014; both admitted that the marriage had proved to be far from ideal as their differences were quite substantial and irreconcilable.
In June 2017, Lindsay met Ben Affleck in London and started dating him the next month. In September 2017, they were seen together at the ‘Emmy Awards’ and at an ‘HBO’ after-event party, giving substance to the rumors about their affair that was already being reported in the media. In recent times, Lindsay and Ben have been seen together on numerous occasions. While Lindsay has still not divorced Kevin Miller, Ben Affleck was still very much married to Jennifer Garner when he started dating Lindsay, even though the couple had announced their divorce plans in June 2015, and actually filed for divorce in April 2017.
