For the rapping aficionados and music enthusiasts, Liont isn’t an unheard name. A highly talented youngster, Liont started his musical journey at a young age. He was only 13 when he started rapping and within next three years, he started making his own songs on MySpace. In 2011, a year shy of turning 20, Liont launched his YouTube channel, ‘Liont TV’, where he also published music videos. Though music videos gave him the start-up that he long desired, it was his videos on everyday topics in the life of a teenager that brought him fame and recognition. They were an instant hit and catapulted his career graph to greater heights. In a year’s span, his subscription numbers reached the 300K mark and earned him the 2013 ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award. By 2015, the number of subscribers on Liont TV rose to 1.4 million, helping his channel become one of the top 20 German YouTube channels. His video ‘to kiss 15 species’ was listed amongst the most popular videos on YouTube, with more than 7.5 million views. 14 of his other videos gained more than a million views on YouTube. Today, his channel has over 1.6 million subscribers.

Other than vlogs and comedy videos, Liont actively contributes to the German music industry. Together with Kayef Torres, he recorded the 2012 song, ‘Against the Rest of the World,’ which got about 5 million views. In 2013, the duo released a joint album, ‘Sexstreetboys’. He next released joint numbers with Kayef Relikte and Komm. In 2015, Liont came up with his debut album, ‘Lowenkind’. Though the album was negatively reviewed, its first video single, ‘Doppelkinn’ debuted at number 8 on the German iTunes charts. While the song reached number 33 on the German music charts, in the Austrian Ö3 Austria Top 40, it was placed at number 20. Liont also tried his hand at acting with a role in 2015 film, ‘Bruder vor Luder’. Coming back to his career as a YouTuber, after the spectacular success of his primary channel, Liont launched his second channel LionTVlog in October 2012. Replicating the success story, LionTVlog has gained more than half a million subscribers. Talking about his other social media involvements, Liont is extremely active on all platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. While his Instagram account has nearly 2 million followers, his Twitter handle has about 1.1 million followers. His facebook page has almost 600K followers.

Liont was born on October 16, 1992 in Solingen, Dusseldorf, Germany, as Timo Mikal Torres. He was musically inclined from an early age and started rapping and singing even before hitting the double digit of his age. By 13, Torres had started ‘Rappen’ and within three years, he was making his own songs on MySpace. When he was 19 years of age, Torres commenced his YouTube channel, ‘Liont TV,’ a platform he used for publishing his music videos. And rest as they say is history. Very soon, he started vlogging about his day-today life and publishing comedy videos. Not much is known about Liont’s academic background or his educational qualification. As for his romantic interests, Liont dated web video producer Dagi Bee since 2011. The love between the two faded and in 2015, they finally drifted apart.
