Lisa Liberati Biography

In 1995, she appeared in her first and only film as an actress, Roger Donaldson’s science fiction horror flick, ‘Species’. Also starring Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Alfred Molina, Forest Whitaker, Marg Helgenberger, and Natasha Henstridge, the movie revolves around a group of scientists who are looking for a killer alien seductress in order to imprison her so she does not successfully mate with a human. Liberati portrayed a character credited as “Bathroom Bimbo”. While ‘Species’ was her last film as an actress, she started her career as a production assistant on its set as well. She served as a personal assistant to executive producer David Streit.

Liberati has been Shyamalan’s personal assistant at least since he co-wrote and produced the 2010 supernatural horror film ‘Devil’. Directed by John Erick Dowdle, the film stars Chris Messina, Logan Marshall-Green, Geoffrey Arend, Bojana Novakovic, Jenny O'Hara, and Bokeem Woodbine, and tells the story of a group of people who are confined in an elevator. They soon realise that the Devil is one of them. The film garnered mixed reviews from the critics and was a modest hit.

Liberati and McAvoy met on the set of the psychological horror film ‘Split’ and soon began dating. However, they kept their relationship private until 2017, when she posted a photograph from the Halloween party on the set of the psychological superhero film ‘Glass’ on her Instagram page. In the photograph, she had arms around him. Since then, they made regular appearances on each other’s social media posts and were spotted together in public. The couple got married in February 2022.

A native of Glasgow, McAvoy graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and made his screen debut in the 1995 thriller-drama ‘The Near Room’. Some of the most memorable characters he has portrayed over the years are Mr. Tumnus in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ (2005), Dr. Nicholas Garrigan in ‘The Last King of Scotland’ (2006), Charles Xavier / Professor X in the X-Men franchise, and Kevin Wendell Crumb / The Horde in ‘Split’ and ‘Glass’. Prior to his relationship with Liberati, McAvoy was married to English actress Anne-Marie Duff from 2006 to 2016. They have a son together, named Brendan (born 2010).
