Louis Dowler Biography

After he began working as a model, Louis Dowler got recognition for appearing in advertisement campaigns for Burberry clothing. He went on to appear on the cover of several magazines, and also modelled for brands like Tommy Bahama. However, he earned the attention of the media after he began dating actress Kate Winslet of Titanic fame. Since then, he has remained in the news for their messy breakup, his subsequent marriage to and separation from Jennifer Esposito, and for the lawsuit he and his business partners filed against Esposito.

Louis Dowler was born in 1975 in Penzance, United Kingdom to Alexander Dowler. He has a bachelor's degree in strategic marketing.

Louis Dowler is best recognized for his high-profile affairs with Kate Winslet and Jennifer Esposito. He began dating Winslet in 2010 after she separated from her second husband, film director Sam Mendes. The two were inseparable for a time and he appeared alongside her at various fashion shows and award events in 2010 and 2011. However, after being together for about a year, they separated in 2011 following their visit to business magnet Richard Branson's estate on Necker Island, where she met and became interested in his nephew Ned Rocknroll. Dowler, who claimed that it was not possible for him to switch off his love for her overnight, was devastated by the split and blamed her for being "cruel" in an interview with Richard Kay for 'The Daily Mail'. Mentioning that she had even met his parents, he described the whole incident as "still very raw for me".

While Louis Dowler mentioned that he had not yet found someone to replace Winslet, he eventually did find his future wife, Jennifer Esposito, who was also involved in a failed marriage before, with a-list Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper. Much like Dowler, Esposito was not happy about her short marriage to the two-time Oscar nominee, and later criticized him without taking a name in her book 'Jennifer's Way' which was released in April 2014. It is possible that Dowler and Esposito were able to bond over their failed affairs after their first meeting in 2012. Following a couple years of dating, they announced in May 2014 that they were engaged, but did not reveal marriage plans at the time. The two finally tied the knot on November 16, 2014 in New York City. According to a wedding guest, the food for the wedding, including the cake, was made at the gluten-free bakery 'Jennifer’s Way', which she had opened back in 2013 with Dowler's help. He was one of the investors in her company, but unfortunately for the couple, mixing business and personal life did not go well because they had differences regarding how the bakery would run. While they had reportedly attempted a patch up, Esposito filed for divorce from him in March 2016. According to his Instagram profile, he is now engaged to a woman whom he refers to as Bubba.

Louis Dowler, who had previously called out at his former partner Kate Winslet publicly following their not-so-straightforward breakup, once again came on the news in early 2016 for filing a $43 Million lawsuit against his then-wife Jennifer Esposito along with other investors in the 'Jennifer’s Way Bakery'. The lawsuit claimed that she had 'hijacked' the company website and redirecting it to her personal blog, in which she instructed customers not to use the products as she was no longer involved with the company. The actress, who had relocated to Denmark to "process all of her legal woes", claimed that she "was misled by her investors" and was "pushed out" of the company. She filed for divorce from him around the same time the lawsuit happened.
