Luis Espina Bio

Luis Espina gained fame on the YouTube channel The Bramfam, which he shares with his wife Bramty Juliette. The channel was created in October 2014, when he had just joined the US Navy, but the very first video was uploaded on it in February 2016. Luis first appeared in the fourth video on the channel, titled TEEN PARENTS Q&A, uploaded on May 8, 2016, in which the couple talked about their teen pregnancy. During the initial months, the channel was run primarily by Bramty who mostly posted vlogs and videos about fashion, makeup and shopping. Luis occasionally appeared in the Q&A videos on the channel, as well as the vlogs that focused on their military life, like the family’s frequent relocations. While he was still in the Navy when he began appearing on YouTube videos, he left the military in October 2017 to spend more time with his family. Since then, he has been a regular on the family channel and has appeared on most videos including vlogs, pranks, and challenges. The family channel currently boasts of 2.7 million subscribers, while he also has 312K followers on his personal Instagram profile.

Luis Espina first met his future wife Bramty Juliette, who is six months older than him, after the latter moved next-door to him and the two were introduced by a mutual friend. The teenage couple began dating in 2012. In the summer of 2014, they learnt that Bramty was pregnant with their first child. At the time, both of them were 18 years old, with Bramty being only a few months short of her 19th birthday. They were also living in different cities as his parents had just moved away. Bramty was so scared of telling her Spanish mother that she broke the news through a text message. Luis, who also started shaking after receiving the news, texted his mother that he wanted to talk to her about something important, and she intuitively knew what  was about. On March 10, 2015, they welcomed their daughter, whom they named “Penelope”, as both of them loved the Greek-origin word after going through baby names in a library. They had to get married in a hurry at the age of 19 because they wanted to be together with their child, and also because they needed to be a married couple to avail certain advantages of his military job.

Luis Nestor Espina was born on December 05, 1995 in Mexico. He is of Cuban descent and described both his parents as “full-blooded Cubans”. He was not able to travel much while growing up, which prompted him to prioritize travelling around the world as a grown up. He joined the US Navy in September 2014, shortly after completing his school studies. In a vlog posted on their family channel on October 15, 2017, they documented his last day in the Navy.

Luis Espina and Bramty Juliette have been married for nearly a decade now and share three children together: daughter Penelope and twins Balcom and Levy, who were born in November 2018. Luis, who had not formally proposed to Bramty before their rushed marriage, did so five years later in February 2018, which was recorded for a video on their channel. While his wife’s mother and her older brother have frequently appeared in their videos, he addressed questions from some fans regarding why his mother never appears in their videos, stating that he did invite her several times, but did not push her much because they had their differences earlier and he prefers to avoid drama.

Interestingly, in several videos, his wife has also opened up about her complicated relationship with her mother-in-law. In another video from 2019, she revealed trying to hide details about her younger brother because he was severing jail term. However, many fans identified him as Jeff Haynes, who was arrested in December 2016 with charges of grand theft, home burglaries, automobile theft, and firearms theft in connection with raids on four homes. Apart from working out together, Luis and Bramty also often attend dance classes together.
