Lyon Daniels was born on June 14, 2007, in Evanston, Illinois, United States of America, to Heather and Joseph William Daniels. He is of mixed ethnicity; African-American from his father's side and Ashkenazi Jewish from his mother's side. While his father is a rock drummer and founder of the popular rock band Local H, his mother works as a creative director in the advertising industry. Daniels was raised alongside his younger brothers, Myles and Rylan.

Lyon Daniels was exposed to the world of showbiz at a young age. When he was just 18 months old, he landed opportunities to model for brands like Macy's, Sears, Target, Vtech, and Kohls. When he was 10 years old, he made his acting debut by portraying the role of Efram in the popular comedy-drama television series Patriot. His big breakthrough came three years later when he was chosen to play Noodles in the American superhero film We Can Be Heroes. The film became popular, making Lyon Daniels a household name in the United States.
