Mara Justine is an American singer who was featured in the Season 9 of the reality TV show ‘America's Got Talent’. She was eventually eliminated in the top 12 Final round. A New Jersey native, Justine began signing very early in her life and grew up with her siblings being her biggest fans. Trained under the voice coach Sal Dupree, She first appeared in the episode five of ‘America’s Got Talent’ and sang ‘And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going’, receiving a “yes” from all four judges. In the following few weeks, she wowed the judges time and again with her impressive performances and made it to the finals where she eventually lost. Recently, she has revealed on social media that she has auditioned to be a participant in the show ‘American Idol’. It is yet not known whether she has been selected or not. She is quite active on various platforms of social media, which she uses to communicate with her fans. Justine has over seven thousand followers on Twitter, 20.3 thousand followers on Instagram, and more than eight thousand followers on Facebook.

Mara Justine was trained under the famous voice coach Sal Dupree who has also trained the likes of Bianca Ryan, the first season winner of AGT, Lou Gazarra, a finalist in the second season of American Idol, and Tiffany Evans, the grand champion of Star Search. In an interview with ‘The Press of Atlantic City,’ Dupree called Justine “amazing and something special”.
In 2014, at the age of 11, she auditioned for ‘America’s Got Talent’ on the show’s fifth episode. Singing Jennifer Hudson’s ‘And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going’, she got “yes” votes from Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel, all the four judges. In the Judgement Week, she was put in the Kid Singers category and performed Whitney Houston's ‘I Have Nothing’, earning rave reviews from all the judges. She was subsequently promoted to the quarterfinals where she sang Katy Perry's ‘Unconditionally’. She received all the judges’ votes, earning a place in the semifinals.
In the first week of the semifinals, she took the stage to sing Kelly Clarkson's ‘Breakaway’ and received a standing ovation from all the judges. Despite not ending up in the top four, she garnered more online votes than her competitors in the Snapple Save, securing herself a position in the finals.
In the Top 12 Finals, she chose to perform Pink's ‘Perfect’, receiving yet another standing ovation from the judges. However, there was an issue with the sound recording and the audience at home could hear an echo throughout the performance. She ended up being voted out because of this, despite giving a solid performance.
Recently, Justine auditioned for the season 16 of ‘American Idol.’ The concerning episode is set to air in March 2018.

Born on February 28, 2002, in Galloway Township, New Jersey, US, Mara Justine grew up in a large family. She has four siblings, including a sister named Jacey Marie, who is also an aspiring singer. Under the proper guidance of her mother Linda Platt, she started singing very early. Her late grandmother was her biggest supporter and she often dedicates her performances to her.
