As a boy, Marcel loved entertaining people and also liked video games. He wanted to be a comedian later. However, after completing school, he took up a full-time job making and selling balloon-shaped animals at birthdays and outside restaurants. He was skilled at it as he was always good with art in school. One fine day in 2011, he created his YouTube channel but didn’t upload a video until 2012. He played a lot of video games with his friends and thought that he could upload them on YouTube since he was so good at it. That’s how he became a YouTube game player. A couple of his videos were really good and in a span of just two weeks, he jumped from 300 to 1000 subscribers. This leap encouraged him to take up YouTube full-time. He has millions of subscribers today, and his own clothing and style brand with his logo ‘wrk.’

There are a large number of game players and they regularly upload videos, but Marcel Cunningham has carved his own place using his humor and intelligence to rise above them. Young and handsome, Marcel has girls going weak in the knees. He is frank and friendly at the same time and also loves going on tours and meeting his fans. His ‘Marcel on Monday’ vlogs helped him connect with his fans and soon his subscribers began to grow at a phenomenal rate. He is humble and owes all his success to his subscribers and gaming friends. He obviously has what it takes to be an entrepreneur too, as he has created his own line of clothes with his logo and his game plays printed on them. His friends say that he is always there for them through good and bad times. That certainly makes him the perfect blend of cute and kind.

As a little boy, Marcel was so crazy about ‘Power Rangers’ that he wanted to become one when he grew up. He loved watching cartoons and playing video games. Like all other boys, he too played different kinds of sports. He also loves eating different cuisines; however, he dislikes fast food, chicken, broccoli, and cabbage. In one of his videos, he tries making pizza with his girlfriend. He has plenty of fun making it and it turns out that he is a good cook too! When asked if he likes Disney movies he said he does and his latest favorite is ‘Moana.’

He was born and raised in Washington. He doesn’t reveal much about his family and past, as he doesn’t find it necessary to disclose his personal life. But he has mentioned his father, who had an ice cream business and owned 7-8 carts. He still remembers assisting his father with one of them and taking the cart out to the fountain and earning 100 dollars a day during his vacations. Marcel has never spoken about having a sibling hence he is probably the only child of his parents. He does respect his father and takes pride in the previous jobs he has done, as they have helped shape his future. He also has a balloon tattoo on his right hand that reminds him of his journey. He moved to Los Angeles with his girlfriend Simone; the two had a long-term and long-distance relationship. He used to travel from America to Europe to be with her, sometimes for six months at a stretch. He is deeply in love with her and their relationship is going strong. In 2016, the couple announced their marriage via Twitter. However, they later decided to part ways and got divorced in 2020.

Marcel’s full-time job before he took up YouTube was making animal balloons outside restaurants and at birthday parties.
