Acting is in the blood of Marie Avgeropoulos as her mother was in the same industry. She had started playing drums at the age of 16 years. For her excellent drumming skills, she was invited by a friend to some casting call in Vancouver. Her talent did not go unnoticed and a talent agent picked her up and she made commendable appearances in many national commercials. It was during this phase that director Chris Columbus noticed her and saw her talent. She was then signed for the film ‘I Love You, Beth Cooper’. This was her first feature film and her role was appreciated by critics as well as the public. She gained instant recognition and it opened up opportunities for more films as well as television shows.
The year 2010 was a prominent one in the life of Marie Avgeropoulos. She played the role of Kim Rhodes in the movie ‘Hunt to Kill’, and this role became a milestone in her career, taking her to new heights. In the meantime, she was doing television as well. In 2013, she made her appearance in CW’s ‘Cult’. The recurring role in the serial gave her a new identity. However, the show failed to gain popularity and finally after episode 7, it got cancelled. Some of the episodes of the show were broadcast later in the summer.
