Mark Rober Bio

Prior to creating content on YouTube, Mark Rober worked as an engineer at NASA. He joined NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2004 and served the organization for almost a decade. He was one of the minds behind the Curiosity rover and invested 7 years in the project. Mark Rober was also involved in designing the hardware for many high-profile JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) missions.

Mark Rober started his YouTube journey in 2011. His first video was titled “iPad2 Halloween Costume- Gaping hole in torso.” The video went viral within a day and received millions of views. This prompted Mark to create Digital Dudz, a costume company that made Halloween costumes inspired by Mark’s video. In 2013, he sold Digital Dudz to another costume company named Morphsuits.

Mark has many inventions to his name. In a video released in 2018, he showcased a unique glitter bomb that released a foul odor when exploded. The bomb was first seen in action against parcel thieves. Mark went on to create improved versions of the glitter bomb. His creation was also utilized against money mules who worked for online scammers. Mark Rober collaborated with YouTube star Jim Browning to take down scam call centers.

Mark Rober has also worked for multinational technology giant Apple, albeit in secret. He served the product design wing of the company and mostly worked on virtual reality projects. He even has 2 virtual reality-related patents to his name.

Mark Rober was born on March 11, 1980, in Orange County, California. He later moved to Sunnyvale, California, in 2015. There is not much information about his parents. He is married to Lisa Rober and together they have a son.

Mark Rober completed his mechanical engineering at Brigham Young University. He pursued his Master’s degree from the University of Southern California. He is a well-known advocate for Autism awareness as his son suffers from the same condition.

Mark is also an environmentalist. In 2019, he teamed up with famous YouTuber MrBeast to initiate Team Trees, a fundraiser that aimed to raise 20 million dollars to plant 20 million trees.
