Markie Post is a noted American actress known for her roles as the public defender Christine Sullivan in NBC’s sitcom ‘Night Court’, the bail bondswoman Terri Michaels in ABC’s drama series ‘The Fall Guy’ and Georgie Anne Lahti Hartman in CBS’s sitcom ‘Hearts Afire’. Other than acting, she has also worked on a number of game shows. The daughter of scientist Richard F. Post and his poet wife Marylee, Post was raised in Walnut Creek and Stanford alongside her two siblings. She studied at Las Lomas High School where she participated in cheerleading. She briefly attended Pomona College and graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Oregon. On a personal note, Post was earlier married to Stephen Knox. Since 1982, she has been married to actor cum writer Michael A. Ross with whom she has two daughters. A wonderful actress and an ideal wife and mother, Post is an inspiration for many in Hollywood.

Career
Markie Post made her television debut with an episode of the 1979 drama ‘CHIPs’. That year, she also featured in two episodes of ‘Buck Rogers in the 25th Century’. Then in 1981, she joined the cast of the television miniseries ‘The Gangster Chronicles’ as Chris Brennan and also landed a role in the crime drama movie ‘Gangster Wars’. In 1982, the actress was cast as Terri Michaels in the action/adventure TV program ‘The Fall Guy’ alongside Lee Majors, Heather Thomas and Douglas Barr. After featuring in the game shows ‘Match Game’ and ‘Go’, she featured in two episodes of ‘Fantasy Island’ and ‘The A-Team,’ respectively. During this time, Post also began appearing in the game show ‘The $10,000 Pyramid’. In the year 1984, she was cast as Christine Sullivan in the sitcom ‘Night Court’. A year later, she joined the game show ‘Super Password’.
From 1992 to 1995, Post starred as Georgie Anne Lahti Hartman in the sitcom ‘Hearts Afire’ alongside John Ritter. After the series ended, she began playing Julia Whitney in the drama ‘Odd Man Out’. In 1998, she did the short film ‘Behind the Zipper with Magda’ and also appeared in ‘There's Something About Mary’, a romantic comedy about several men who fall in love with the titular character, Mary, and strive to win her heart. The actress next starred as Mom Chandler in the television film ‘Holiday in Handcuffs’. During this time, she also shot for the movie ‘Cook Off!’ which released in 2017.
In 2013, she was cast as a series regular in ‘Transformers Prime’. The following year, she began portraying the character of Barbara Fletcher in the police procedural drama ‘Chicago P.D’. In 2014, Post also appeared in ‘Muffin Top: A Love Story’, Cathryn Michon’s directorial debut about a woman who re-enters the dating world after her husband leaves her for another woman.
