Personal Life

Matteo Bocelli was born on October 8, 1997, in Forte dei Marmi, a Tuscan resort town known to be the haunt of Italian artists and writers. He is the youngest son of Andrea Bocelli and his first wife Enrica Cenzatti. He has an older brother, Amos, who was born on February 22, 1995.

Andrea Bocelli is generally regarded as one of the greatest tenors of all time. Having been born with poor eyesight, Andrea lost his vision completely when he was 12 years old due to a football accident. However, music had been a quintessential part of his life even when he was a child. Despite his condition, he kept singing, playing the piano, and making music and as he grew up, he became an international sensation. Over the course of his extensive career, he has released 15 solo studio albums, three greatest hits albums, and nine complete operas. A total of 90 million of his records have been sold to date. Andrea is an OMRI (Order of Merit of the Italian Republic) as well as an OMDSM (Order of Merit of Duarte, Sánchez and Mella).
Matteo’s parents separated in 2002. He has a half-sister named Virginia, who was born to his father and his manager and then-fiancée Veronica Betti, on March 21, 2012. Andrea and Betti married on the second birthday of their daughter.
Despite being divorced, both of his parents were involved in his and his brother’s upbringing. His father lived in a villa in Forte dei Marmi with Betti while Matteo, his brother, and their mother resided in Andrea and Cenzatti’s previous home. Since he was a child, Matteo has demonstrated that he has inherited his father’s musical talent. His father’s presence in his life in the formative years allowed Matteo to be exposed to a particularly stimulating environment where his musical gifts could flourish. He enrolled for piano lessons quite early in his life and by the time he became a teenager, his passion for music was only matched by his love for sports. However, his father did not get involved in his music education until 2015. At present, he is attending the Lucca Conservatory as a student of vocal performance.
