Melanie Liburd is a British actress who gained initial prominence for her roles in the TV series ‘Dark Matter’ and ‘The Grinder’. A native of the county of Hertfordshire, Liburd always harboured an interest in acting. She attended The Identity School of Acting in London. Prior to pursuing a career in acting, she was a fashion model. Liburd made her acting debut in the 2009 television film ‘The Selection’, portraying a character named Fiona Castley. Three years later, she was cast as the recurring character Asmara in Sky One and Cinemax’s series ‘Strike Back’. After a series of guest and cameo appearances in both British and American television shows, she landed her first significant role as Ivy Dexter in the short-lived legal comedy ‘The Grinder’. She made an appearance in HBO’s fantasy drama ‘Game of Thrones’ as well. In 2016, she began playing Nyx Harper in the season two of Syfy’s science fiction series ‘Dark Matter’. She was a series regular in the Naomi Watts-starrer ‘Gypsy’. In 2018, she joined the cast of NBC’s comedy-drama TV series ‘This Is Us’. Liburd made her cinematic debut in the 2015 drama ‘Runaway Island’.
