In 2013, Micheal Neeson appeared in ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.’ This American comedy movie was the sequel to the 2004 flick ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.’ The film also starred Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and David Koechner.

Neeson appeared in a recurring role in the television series ‘Bad Dogs.’ He acted in the drama film, ‘Vox Lux,’ alongside Natalie Portman in 2018. Currently, he is busy shooting for a new TV drama called ‘The Two Wolves’ which will premiere in 2019. The actor is also reportedly working on a movie named ‘Cold Pursuit’ with his father. This American action thriller movie, directed by Hans Petter Moland, will be a loose remake of ‘In Order of Disappearance,’ a popular Norwegian film.

Coping with Mother's Death

On 18 March 2009, Micheal Neeson lost his beloved mother, actress Natasha Richardson. She died from an epidural hematoma following a skiing accident in Quebec. After the death of his mother, the actor and his family were completely devastated. Micheal began partying a lot and even resorted to drugs for self-gratification. His mental condition worsened and everybody he met during that time believed that he was using drugs to cope with his mother’s loss. He then worked hard to leave behind his addiction so that he could rebuild his life.

Change of Name

In October 2018, Micheal changed his name from Micheal Neeson to “Micheal Richardson” in order to honor his deceased mother, Natasha Richardson, who had died a few years ago. In a conversation with ‘Daily Mail,’ his grandmother and Natasha’s mother, Vanessa Redgrave, revealed his name change. She stated that he changed his name not because he wanted to avoid his father’s fame but because he wanted to hold the memories of his late mother close to him as she was an outstanding actress.

From his father’s side, his grandparents are Katherine Brown and Bernard Neeson. He is a nephew of the English actress Joely Richardson.
