Michelle Yvonne Hunziker is a Swiss-Italian fashion model, actress and a television personality; she is one of Italy’s most popular celebrities. Born in Switzerland, she decided to achieve fame in the fashion world and started her modeling career from a young age. At the age of 16, she moved with her mother to Italy and met the famous agent, Riccardo Gay, who recognized her potential and helped her in getting offers from international brands. Within a year, she became a well-known fashion model and posed for famous labels including Armani, Rocco Barocco, and Colmar. Her outgoing attitude and flawless figure received much appreciation from the fashion industry around the world. After achieving success as a lingerie and bikini model, she made the move towards becoming an actress. She made her debut in an Italian miniseries and a year later, featured in her first motion picture. Childhood & Early Life
She was born on January 24, 1977, in Sorengo, in the canton of Ticino, the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, to Rudolf Hunziker, a Swiss-German who worked as a hotel manager, and his wife, Ineke, a Dutch woman. She was the only child of her parents.
In 1983, when she was six, the family moved to Ostermundigen, a suburb of Bern in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, where she received her elementary education. Later, her parents got divorced and she went with her mother to Solothurn.

Career
In her teenage years, she decided to become a model and moved with her mother to Milan, to pursue a career in the fashion world. There, she was hired by Riccardo Gay, a renowned agent and at the age of 17, she modeled for a number of famous brands such as, ‘Armani’, ‘Rocco Barocco’, ‘La Perla’, ‘Colmar’, ‘Fuerte Ventura’, ‘Lovable and Swish’.
After being spotted by an Italian TV producer, she went on to become an actress and TV personality. In 1990, she hosted a TV series ‘Paperissima Sprint’ and served as a co-host for TV serial ‘Scherzi a parte’ in 1992.
In 1996, she hosted the TV show ‘Rai Uno’ and also featured in an episode of another TV series ‘I misteri di CascinaVianello’.
During the late 1990s she also received the offer to host another TV show ‘Cinderella’. After the success of this show, she received several more offers from show producers.
In 1998, she was offered her first ever lead role in the TV series titled ‘La Forza dell’Amore’. The next year, she starred in ‘The Protagonist’, a documentary film.
She featured in the 1999 Italian movie, ‘Voglio stare sotto al letto’. The same year, she also co-hosted the famous show ‘Michael Jackson and Friends’.
From 1999 to 2001, she presented the late night show ‘Nonsolomoda’ where she reported about fashion and lifestyle. In 2000, she presented her first German TV show ‘Erstes Gluck’.
From 2002 to 2004, she co-hosted the first and second seasons of ‘Deutschland sucht den Superstar’, the German version of the British TV show ‘Pop Idol’.
In 2003, she was seen in the English language movie ‘Ancient Warriors’. The following year, she appeared in the Italian TV version of ‘Un gars, une fille’, a successful Quebec comedy television series.
In 2006, she turned towards singing and released an album named ‘Lole’. The album featured singles such as ‘From noon till midnight’, ‘Get Out’, ‘Someone Else’ and ‘Love me or Hate me’.
In 2007, she featured in the Italian movie ‘Natale in crociera’. The following year, she starred in the movie ‘Natale a Rio’. She was also seen in the 2009 motion picture, ‘Christmas in Beverly Hills’.
She has also starred in the musicals such as ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Cabaret’, both of which had great success in Italy.

In 2007, she co-hosted the worldwide popular Italian song contest, the ‘Festival di Sanremo’ on Rai Uno. Later, she co-hosted TV programs such as ‘Striscia la Notizia’ and ‘Paperissima’.

Personal Life & Legacy
Upon becoming a renowned model, she met the famous Italian singer, Eros Ramazzotti, and fell in love with him. In 1996, she gave birth to their daughter, Aurora Sophie. Two years later, the couple got married and she was granted an Italian citizenship. They separated in 2002 and later divorced each other.
After her separation from Ramazzotti, she was linked with the famous producer, Luigi De Laurentiis Jr. Later, she developed a relationship with Tomaso Trussardi, the current head and CEO of the renowned Italian fashion house, Trussardi. In 2013, the couple announced their engagement and was blessed with a daughter, Sole.
