Miranda Cosgrove Biography

Miranda Cosgrove’s rise to stardom started when she was just three years old. She was dancing and singing in a restaurant when a talent agent approached her and her mother for her modelling. Her mom accepted that offer and then Miranda was cast in commercials for Burger King, McDonalds and Mello Yello. At the age of seven she started giving auditions for stage and television roles. Her film debut came in 2003 in ‘School of Rock.’ However, she got a major breakthrough on TV when she played Megan Parker on the famous series ‘Drake and Josh’ on Nickelodeon. She became more popular when she took the role of Carly Shay in ‘iCarly’ in 2007.These big breakthroughs accelerated her career rapidly until she became the world’s highest paid child actress in 2012. She was awarded the Best Example to the Youth award in 2011 and the Favourite international artist award for ‘iCarly’ in 2013.

Miranda Cosgrove was born in a middle class family where her father had a dry cleaning business and her mother, a homemaker. However, at a young age of three, the talented little girl was approached by a talent agent. Miranda was a natural born actress. She was cast in numerous commercials at a very young age. Not only is she good at acting, but she also pursued with her extreme passion for singing and recorded numerous single tracks along with two albums. Her first track was recorded back in 2007 for the ‘iCarly’ theme track ‘Leave it all to me.’ After that, Miranda released a successful studio album, two expented plays and soundtracks along with six singles. This devotion for becoming better at everything is what makes Miranda a class apart.

Being an only child, Miranda was homeschooled from the sixth grade. She wanted to stay near her family. So, she took up acting in the University of Southern California. She aspires to do a major in theatres. However, she is also fond of writing. She actively supports and visits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tennessee. Education through Music is one of her favorite charities. She is a national spokesperson for Light the Night walk. It is an organization that creates awareness about blood cancer and leukemia.When asked about her career, Miranda says, “I love entertaining people and making them laugh. It's my favorite thing to do.”

Miranda describes herself as determined, dorky and shy. She is really close to her parents. Touring for acting and singing made her school life difficult and making friends or rather keeping them was also hard. However, her mom travelled with her and she helped her remain in touch with others. Her favorite foods are Sushi and brownies. She loves horror movies and dogs. She is allergic to cats although she has one named Midnight. Even after reaching this height of popularity, she wants to get the message out that everybody can make a difference. Miranda Cosgrove suports charities like Alzheimer’s Foundation, American heart foundation, and American stroke foundation.

Miranda Cosgrove is a certified scuba diver and enjoys exploring the underwater world in her free time.

She is an avid collector of vinyl records and has an impressive collection of classic albums.

Miranda has a talent for drawing and often sketches portraits of her friends and family members.

She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys practicing the language by watching Spanish films and reading books in Spanish.

Miranda is a passionate animal lover and has two rescue dogs that she adores.
