Movita Castaneda, born as Maria Luisa Castaneda, was an American actress and singer. She was best known for having been the wife of actor Marlon Brando who was eight years younger than her. In terms of acting, Castaneda was mainly recognized for playing the roles of exotic women in most movies including ‘Flying Down to Rio’, ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’, ‘Paradise Isle’ and ‘Girl from Rio’. Besides these, she also appeared in the movies ‘Tower of Terror’, ‘Fort Apache’, ‘The Mysterious Desperado’ and ‘Saddle Legion’. The American artiste also contributed to television when she played the role of Ana in the drama series ‘Knots Landing‘. Castaneda, who was the mother of Rebecca Brando Kotlizky and Miko Castaneda Brando, had been involved with numerous men in her personal life. She had been through passionate affairs with Errol Flynn and Clark Gable, and a failed marriage with Jack Doyle, before getting hooked with Brando. On February 12, 2015, the actress died at the age of 98 in Los Angeles due to complications from a neck injury.
