Childhood & Early Life
Natasha Leggero was born on March 26, 1974, in Rockford, Illinois. She has Swedish and Italian ancestries. Though Leggero was raised as a Roman Catholic, she converted to Judaism when she grew up.
Leggero hails from a lower middleclass family. Her father was a dealer of used cars, and her mother was a book-keeper in a shop. Leggero’s parents divorced when she was quite young. This brought more difficulties for the family. As a teenager, Leggero worked in grocery shops and supplied newspapers to earn a living.
Leggero attended the ‘Rockford East High School,’ for her early education. Later, she attended the ‘Illinois State University.’ Leggero auditioned for the theater program at the ‘Stella Adler Conservatory,’ and was admitted to the program. She spent two years at the conservatory. In 2000, Leggero graduated from the ‘Hunter College,’ in New York, with a ‘B.A’ in Theater Criticism.

In 2004, Leggero was offered a part in the reality TV show, ‘The Joe Schmo Show.’ She appeared in two episodes of the show, as ‘Rita, The Drunk.’ In 2005, Leggero grabbed the role that brought her to limelight. She played the role of the host, ‘Dawn,’ in the reality TV show, ‘MTV’s The 70s House.’ In the show, the participants were kept in an environment similar to the 1970s, where they were not allowed to use the gadgets and gizmos.
