Nathaniel Bandy Bio

Nathaniel Bandy had filmed about 30 videos on a webcam in his grandparents’ house in 2004, before YouTube even existed. Later, inspired by YouTubers Cinemassacre, ScrewAttack and AzuriteReaction, he created his YouTube account in April 2007 and started uploading whatever he could think of in August.

His first few videos, known as the “The Faceless Board Breaker” series, were very short skits and were posted anonymously with his face covered with a black rectangle. He first revealed his face in “Rock Band Commercial” on November 28, 2008 and subsequently made dozens of music-themed videos, but those were removed by YouTube due to copyright issues as they contained rock songs from the games Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

Nathaniel Bandy later returned to posting skits in 2009, this time without covering his face, and often made spoof videos of various commercials. He also occasionally featured his “evil clone” in some of the videos, which later paved the way for his brother character, “Bathaniel Nandy”. Nathaniel started taking YouTube seriously during his senior year at school and uploaded his first video game commentary, Top 15 Hardest Super Mario 64 stars!! (Based off my 8-9 year old perspective), on August 17, 2011. This video, and his latter “Predicting” gaming videos, featured a logo with his initials “NB” in their thumbnails, even though his “Top 10” series omitted it.

He finally gave his channel a professional makeover in 2016 by introducing better intro, eye-catching thumbnails and 3D spinning NB cube logo, while retiring series that he felt were not up to standard. During this period, he started his “Reacting” series, “MIND-BLOWING” videos and his most popular “TRIGGERED” series, followed by other popular series like “Is it possible…?” and “12 Days of Nintendo”, which all contributed to the channel reaching one million subscribers in December 2021.

In March 2022, Nathaniel Bandy’s YouTube channel was hacked, following which the hackers renamed the channel to “MicroStrategy”, delisted all his videos, and ran a scam crypto live-streaming. Thankfully, he got access back to his channel days later and was able to restore his videos. He subsequently made a video explaining to his fans that he had taken all sorts of precautions to avoid such a situation, but the hackers were somehow able to access an old Hotmail account he didn’t use anymore, and through it, his Gmail account linked to his main YouTube channel, his second channel “Bathaniel Nandy”, and the group YouTube channel “Minus World”. He revealed that about 20k of his subscribers left during the episode, and urged them to rethink subscription, adding that he had taken extra steps to increase safety. He jokingly said that he was able to trend on Twitter during the debacle. Incidentally, his Twitter was hacked the previous year.

Nathaniel Bandy was born on October 12, 1993 in Virginia, United States. He was a “military brat” who spent his early years across several states and even lived in Norway when he was aged between seven and ten. The first video game he ever played was Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genesis, but he was only three years old at the time and doesn’t really remember much of it. At six, he got a Game Boy Color for Christmas with the games Pokémon Red and Super Mario Bros Deluxe and was immediately hooked to it. While he went through a phase in high school when he played nothing but Guitar Hero and Rock Band, for the most part, he has been a Nintendo gamer since childhood. He has admitted that he might be biased towards Nintendo as he finds the games on the platform the most fun and most charming. Apart from Nintendo 64 games, he likes to collect Monopoly boards. He played basketball and soccer and practiced martial arts when he was younger. For just about a month, he played drums in the high school band “Sounds of Confession”. He attended James Madison University.
