Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, he began his TV career as the host of ‘Studio Disney’, an afternoon kids’ show, which aired on Disney Channel. His popularity grew further after he hosted ‘The Mint,’ a late night quiz show. Besides hosting TV shows, he also ventured into acting and appeared in a number of TV series. He played the protagonist in the mystery crime film ‘Offing David’ in 2008; this marked his feature film debut. The same year, he also played an important role in the TV series ‘Out of the Blue’ where he portrayed the role of Paul O'Donnell. He played a recurring role in the well-known TV series ‘The Vampire Diaries’ as well. He also had a minor role in the critically acclaimed war drama film ‘Hacksaw Ridge’. The film was a commercial success and was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Nathaniel Buzolic began his acting career by appearing in episodes of TV series, such as ‘Home and Away’ and ‘All Saints.’ These trivial roles did not help him much in establishing his career. In 2005, he served as the host of the children’s TV show ‘Studio Disney,’ a stint that garnered him the attention he craved for. His popularity grew in 2007, after he hosted ‘The Mint,’ a late night quiz show which aired on Nine Network. It was adapted from the British program based on the quiz show of the same name.

He made his film debut in 2008, playing a significant role in the mystery crime film ‘Offing David’. Directed by Jeff Bays, the film also starred actors, such as Richie Harkham, Adam J Yeend and Sascha Raeburn. The same year, he also had a main role in the drama series ‘Out of the Blue’. In 2010, he had a supporting role in the supernatural horror film ‘Needle’ which was directed by John V Soto. The film won several awards.
From 2012 to 2014, he played the recurring role of Kol Mikaelson in the well-known horror TV series ‘The Vampire Diaries’. He also had a recurring role in ‘The Originals’, which was a spin-off series of ‘The Vampire Diaries’. In 2014 and 2015, he had a recurring role in the TV series ‘Pretty Little Liars’. In 2015, he played a recurring role in the TV series ‘Significant Mother’. The show, however, was cancelled in 2016.
In 2016, he played the role of Harold "Hal" Doss in the biographical war drama film ‘Hacksaw Ridge’. The film, which was adapted from a documentary ‘The Conscientious Objector,’ was directed by Mel Gibson. It was based on the experiences of Desmond Doss, a World War II pacifist combat medic. As a Seventh Day Adventist Christian, he had refused to carry or use a weapon or firearm of any kind, and was awarded the Medal of Honor. The film starred actors such as Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, and Teresa Palmer. It was a financial success and earned several awards and nominations. It was also praised by the critics. The film was nominated for six Oscars, out of which it won two.
