Career
Nicole Eggert’s career in the show business started in a very interesting way. Her mother, Gina Duncan, a talent agent herself, entered Nicole in a beauty contest when she was five. She eventually won and also caught the eye of another agent who immediately offered her the chance to appear in a Johnson's Baby Shampoo commercial. This kicked off her career and she made her acting debut not long after in 1979 when she appeared in a television film titled ‘When Hell Was in Session’ as ‘Mary Beth Denton’.
Her film debut came shortly after in 1981 when she appeared in the American drama film ‘Rich and Famous’, directed by George Cukor, as an eight-year-old ‘Debby Blake’. Throughout the early and mid-1980s, she appeared in several important films and television shows including ‘Dennis the Menace in Mayday for Mother’ (voicing the character of Margaret), ‘Fantasy Island’, ‘I Dream of Jeannie... Fifteen Years Later’, and ‘The Clan of the Cave Bear’.
In 1987, Nicole landed her big break in the American sitcom ‘Charles in Charge’ alongside Scott Baio. Later in 1992, she appeared in the American action drama series ‘Baywatch’ as ‘Summer Quinn’, one of the many lifeguards in the series. She appeared in the third and fourth seasons of the show and later also appeared in two spin-offs. In 2009, Eggert participated in the winter 2010 season of ‘Celebrity Fit Club,’ telecast in VH1 and then a year later she appeared on the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff.
In 2014, she took a break from her acting career and decided to explore other ventures. She owned and operated an ice-cream food truck, which according to her is a “family business” which has been started with the sole purpose of bringing “fun” and “an innovative twist to the ice-cream man”.
