P2istheName created his YouTube channel on May 15, 2011. However, he did not post any video on it until December 2016. The oldest video on his channel was posted on December 23. Titled ‘MyCareer | How to Get 6 Badges at One Time!! | NBA 2k17 Tutorial’, it had since become quite popular. In the early days of his YouTube career, P2istheName made NBA 2K PvP videos, montages, and Let’s Plays. By early 2018, he decided to diversify his content and started uploading Fortnite-related videos. Around this time, he began vlogging as well.

While his NBA 2K PvP videos rarely reached 100 thousand views, his Fortnite content received several hundred thousand views on a regular basis. He amassed over 3.8 million subscribers on the platform and hundreds of millions of views in total. P2istheName was one of the leading Fortnite gamers on YouTube. He had not only inspired countless others to play the games themselves, but his success had also prompted many of them to create their own gaming content.

P2istheName had gained some notoriety for his clickbait and misleading titles and thumbnails. While it had become a common thing on YouTube to use ambiguous titles and descriptions to attract more viewership, especially in the gaming community, it is still a frowned-upon practice.

P2istheName or Phil was born on April 23, 1998, in the United States of America. He tragically passed away on March 14, 2025, in a mailroom in Los Angeles, United States.
