Patrick Whitesell is an American businessman and a talent agent. He is one of the key players behind the formation of William Morris Endeavor, a media agency and an entertainment company. Whitesell, along with Ari Emanuel, the co-founder of the Beverly Hills-based talent agency, The Endeavor Talent Agency, came up with the plan to merge the company with The William Morris Agency. The William Morris Agency was a Hollywood-based talent agency, and after the merger, the two agencies formed William Morris Endeavor, which currently represents organizations like the National Football League (NFL) and the National Hockey League (NHL). The company also owns the annual international beauty pageant contest ‘Miss Universe’ as well the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Whitesell has been part of the company for over one and a half decades as a partner. Today, the company not only owns and represents top entertainment and sporting organizations, but also represents artists from different media platforms including television, movies, music, and theatre.

Career
Patrick Whitesell has always been associated with agencies working to promote talents and handling their business departments. The business mogul started his career at InterTalent, a talent agency, where he managed business dealings of artistes between 1990 and 1992. He later left the company to join the United Talent Agency (UTA), a California-based talent agency, and represented many professionals between 1992 and 1995. After three years at UTA, Whitesell joined Creative Artists Agency LLC (CAA), another California-based talent and sports agency, where he served the company as its talent department’s head. Whitesell was part of the company for over five years. After his stint at CAA, Whitesell took charge of another talent agency named Endeavor Talent Agency, based at Beverly Hills, and served as its executive officer. He, along with the company’s co-founder Ari Emanuel, came up with a plan to merge their agency with The William Morris Agency (WMA) and formed William Morris Endeavor Entertainment LLC. The company was formed in 2009 and immediately started taking over the global talent agency market.
William Morris Endeavor Entertainment LLC (WME) represents not only various artists and sports personalities but also owns many popular sports programs as well as show businesses. WME owns the American mixed-martial-arts sport program The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and also the annual beauty pageant contest ‘Miss Universe’. The company represents two of the biggest sports enterprises in the United States, The National Football League (NFL) and The National Hockey League. Whitesell’s company has represented top celebrities like Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Adam Sandler, John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Jennifer Aniston.

Patrick Whitesell was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa, on February 4, 1965, to Patricia and John Patrick Whitesell. He comes from a very popular and distinguished family, and all his brothers, Sean Whitesell, Thomas Whitesell, Christopher Whitesell, James Whitesell, and John Whitesell are established personalities in either the entertainment industry or sports. Whitesell attended Iowa Falls High School and later graduated from the Luther College in Iowa in the late 1980s.
He married the Emmy Award-nominated American news anchor Lauren Wendy Sánchez in 2005 and has three children together. Recently, his wife was rumored to have been in an extramarital affair with businessman Jeff Bezos. Whitesell and Sanchez are currently separated and are reportedly going for a divorce.
